Rejoice - the long awaited firmware upgrade for the Nokia E61 is finally available!
The upgrade is available through Nokia's Software Updater - a Windows application that lets end user upgrade the firmware of their devices.
The firmware update deletes all data from the Nokia E61 so back up your contacts, applications and other data stored on the device. The charger must be connected when performing the update.
If there ever was a smooth upgrade then this was it. Everything worked like a charm.
Ashy, 0523307 Euro-A Silver is the one to use when de-branding a E61 on 3. With the unlocking, I don’t have a DKU-5 cable either. Which phone did you get it with? However, from what I’ve read online, the ‘Dejan BB5 Unlock’ you mention doesn’t work with the E61. If you do manage to try it, please post your results!

Nokia E61 is the firmware i have but i think navigating sms and replying a sms is really slow.Anyone experincing the same thing?

You will see a program there called sms accelerator for series 60 devices. It will speed up your sms quite a bit. It is free from Nokia.
Hi guys, dunno if anyone else has this issue but i have a 3 branded e61 and i have now installed the update, ever since my phone longer picks up 3G signal it picks up standard fine but no 3G any suggestions

Same problem here, im using 3 branded e61 (UK),i initially had the 1.06ver,now updated to 2.06 (which is the latest for 3 handsets. I have to say im really dissapointed, besides the fact that it doesnt pick up 3G signal,shortcuts are not working (when u press menu key and then a number from the blue keys to enter in the submenu);also back up software did not restore my mail acc,and txt messages properly
I too upgrade my firmware from 1.06 to 2.06 (as per instructions on the 3 website) and can now no longer establish a 3G connection. 3 Technical Support (what a load of rubbish) advised me to take the phone to a Nokia Service Centre. Has anybody else had any luck with reactivating 3G post upgrade? How did you do it?

I unbranded my phone following the tutorial in this link http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=344689 . You need to find the product code for your country. Maybe you can ask/find it in the thread. When the phone is unbranded it can be updated to the latest firmware via Nokia Software Updater. I did this in may and my phone has worked perfect since then.

HELP! I have an e61 that’s less than a year old and it no longer notifies me on the screen that I have a voicemail it does however send me an annoying blank text from”5″ telling me how many voicemails.
surprisingly my google queries do not lead to success:
my Intellisync is using too much memory on my E61i. Thus I thought it would be a good to move my many contacts and other Outlook data to the memory card where I have plenty of free memory….. BUT how do I do that? I haven’t found an option where I can change the default storage path for user data of Intellisync……

I recently purchased a used nokia E90 on Ebay, the phone was working perfectly, I went online to the nokia website to update the firmware and the it stoped working, it won’t turn on or do anything, I’ve tried new batteries. I called nokia and gave the the IMEI number they told me the phone was made for singapore china, I tried to contact someone there to no avail. I paid $ 700.00 for this phone. is there any where in the USA or anywhere I can send this phone for repair?.
I feel your pain.
Two things you can do, first take out the battery for at least 2hrs and then try again. If the phone turns on but wont boot, try updating again.
Second, take it to a third party Nokia Repair Centre, theres a list on Nokia’s website.
They wont care where the phone is from if your paying cash, ask them to debrand the phone to World Wide English and should be ok for about $30.
