Nokia E61 Shortcuts
For those of us that prefers shortcuts, a convenient way to activate bluetooth is to press the "Blue Function" Key + "Ctrl" key.

To activate the infrared function press the "Blue Function" Key + "Chr" key.
Thanks Dias

Hi Ed,
You can also switch quickly to the ‘Silent Profile’ by holding onto the ‘#’ key with a long press. You can also switch back to the ‘General Profile’ by holding onto the ‘#’ key with a long press again.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Found and blogged about this yesterday. A lovely shortcut which gives one extra slot for any other standby application icon.
Andrew: Very useful tip. Nice of you to tell.

Someone can tell me about the same shortcuts for the E70??
Please!!
September 12th, 2006 at 6:17 am
? ups, there seems to be a different handling in the shortcuts depending on language settings (mine: german) or branding (eplus) of firmware?
the blue + ctrl - shortcut works fine (really great stuff! thanks a lot: now i have a free place to fill again in the standby-applicationlist! :-).
but shift-chr does not work!
also, the # leads to the “want to change outgoing line”-popup and not to a profile-switch
by mistyping blue+ctrl with blue+chr i found that this activates the infrared (on my device!). don’t now if this was already known…?

Hi guys are there any shortcuts within Blackberry connect for E61 I am specifically fater create new message (email) whilst in the blackberry email
October 27th, 2006 at 6:58 am
Wow, at my great surprise. When I press and hold the “P” key, E61 open the WAP Browser. And I can now connect to my wap_Yahoo mail by GPRS (in case there is no WiFi). It is a great convenient because it will save my money.

I use this shortcut for deleting emails, and un-installing programs, and come across it in many more progs.
It’s the combination blue key (left-bottom) and then the backspace key.
This intantly deletes an read email for you (way faster via the menu).
Not sure if this hasn’t been discovered earlier yet (it’s not on the list)… hope it’s usefull for you!

Hi guys!
I was wondering… does the red key (hang up) close the active application on your e61 too? Because in Series60 v2 it only jumped to the desktop, leaving the running app in the background but not closing it (as in my E61). Is this a bug in my phone, or is it default for all S60v3? If so, is there a way to change it back to the old behaviour?
Greets!

how can I activate the key bord light on and off?
April 5th, 2007 at 7:44 am
szabi4
The red key does not close the app. You can get back to it by pressing and holding the key on the left of the joystick. This show you all apps currently running.

Thank you for the short cut key advice.

hy …. pls, can somebody tell me which is the “blue key” on nokia e70 ???
plsssssssssssss
March 19th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
I’m not sure if anyone knows this, but you can browse the menu by the keypad, instead of the joystick/rocker, by hitting the number keys that correspond to the menu item you want; it is mapped to the keypad. So if you want to get to settings:
menu key, then * then 5
Holding down the menu key will bring up a list of currently running apps. To close an app, scroll to it and it the backspace key (or the C key on other devices).
To skip the bootup music + hands animation, hit the red key when the animation starts, and it will take you directly to standby.
