Nokia E61 in Bangkok

Many of us use the Nokia E61 as an essential business tool. It's always interesting to learn how other Nokia E61 users rely on the device in their daily work. I received an email from Daniel Cuthbert, a talented photographer in Bangkok who used the device to report on the coup in Thailand.

Being a photographer in Bangkok, as soon as i heard the news i grabbed the
camera bag and phone and rushed out.
The E-61 allowed me to keep the http://bangkok.metblogs.com site updated with
up2theminute reports on what was happening.

the phone got wet, dropped 4 times and still worked like a dream!

*now if it would only support compact flash cards and full image manipulation
and uploads, i wouldnt need a laptop.

This is a great example on how great Nokia E61 can be. I don’t regret buying this device and never will.

umm.. about the full image manipulation , i dont think so :).

the raw / tiff images from a DSLR are not meant to be edited on a normal comp, let alone a smartphone!

Waterproof , yes. Crashproof… err somewhat.
My phone jumped out of my pocket on a moving motorike, and skidded across the road! (this was before Covers for the phone were available… )
Now its got a Harry Potter trademark scar on the nokia Logo, and two blotches on the existing screen protector ( probably messed up the plastic too.. :( )

And then one day it rained cats and dogs, but i continued to listen to music with my HS-20 /AD-41 combo. Well err. AD41 yes, HS20 no. The HS20 SUCK bigtime. Im using my PSP earphones with the AD41 remote control..

    So there for Waterproof!

Now , someone please tell me where i can get a Good fascia for the phone with the LCD plastic shell ? ( the one between the screen and the screen protector sticker… )

    Hi,

I’ll be in Bangkok next week.

Where would be the best place to purchase the E61?
What is the street price of the E61?

I’m aware of the shops in MBK, but I’d like to have an estimate in advance.

And on a similar subject, does anyone have an idea how much would an HP HW6910 communicator cost in Bangkok?
Again, I’ll be visiting Panthip Plaza, but I’d like to have an estimate.

    Thank you.

My E61i fell into the toilet. While it did not smell of roses seems the wash did no harm since it still functioned perfectly.
