Tip: Keeping Your Email Outbox In Sync
If you don't use a push email service such as the BlackBerry Connect on your Nokia E61/E62 it can be hard to track what emails you send from your mobile device. Here is a tip to to get your email acccount outbox in sync. (Something that is very important for business users)
1) set up an email account (for an example e61@xxxx.com) - this is only to be used for receiving messages from the e61.
2) When you send an email from your Nokia E61 BCC, it to the address you have set-up.
3) In outlook (or any other mail program that allows rules) set up a rule that any email sent to the e61 account, (associated with your device), is marked as read and moved to the sent folder.
That way you always keep a record of what you sent.
Thanks for the tip Charles!

I use the excellent Tuffmail service for all of my email, and they offer “Auto Bcc from SMTP servers”, meaning any message I send through their SMTP/outgoing mail server gets put in my IMAP Sent box. Everything I send from my Mac or my E61 ends up in the same place.

There is an built-in option for BCC in the E61:
Under the settings of your mailbox you have to go to ‘User-settings’ (I think, I have the Dutch language installed..). There you find the option ‘Copy to me’ (also a guess). Works like a charm!

Another good way is using a Gmail account, maybe just for sending emails. If you set up your phone to send mail messages through gmail’s smtp server then you’ll find your sent messages in the POP3 account, being able to sort them out easily with a filter in Mail or Outlook. This way you don’t have to BCC any address.

I’m having an issue with keeping my Inbox in sync. I set up my Nokia E61 to use my IMAP server, while everything is working correctly there’s one really annoying thing: If I delete a mail in my regular e-mail client, it doesn’t disappear on the Nokia, never, unless I delete it manually on the phone. Even after resyncing, connecting/disconnecting, it stays there. This means, that if you don’t treat your mails on your phone exclusively, they will just keep heaping up on the phone. Anyone experencing the same? Any suggestions?

The only automatic option on the e61 is to copy to myself, not to another address, meaning if I want to bcc to my e61 address, I have to do it manually. Why not give the option of where to send it. The operating system is very immature.

I’m trying to setup my IMAP .mac account on my E70 but it doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve gone through all the settings but can’t seem to get it to connect right. Can anyone provide some insight on this?
