Pearl Black Theme Revisited
I usually don't write about the same Nokia E62 theme twice but then again this theme is spectacular. The designer, Alexx, has spent a lot of time improving an already great theme. A number of bugs have been fixed, the theme is now 100% vector graphics, fonts have been changed to improve legibility and the theme has gone on a diet. It has dropped from 324 kB to 93 kB! (Impressive loss)
If you haven't tried out the theme I suggest you do so. If you already have the theme make sure you are using the latest version.

If you are having problems installing the theme read this.
I also want to encourage all theme designers to submit their themes to the Theme Contest.

Hi! Looking at the screenshots for the PearlBlack theme, as well as other screenshots, I’m starting to wonder why my phone does not sport the font shown in these screenshots. The font shown above, especially in the messaging window, is compact, a bit thick, and looks great, but all my phone can show is a thin font, sort of like the Arial font in Windows. Any suggestions as to how I can get this font on my phone?

I had the same font as you are describing above. However, I have the thicker font now due to a firmware upgrade. Is anyone able to install this theme? I get a “certificate error”.

I’ve had a firmware upgrade as well, to 2.0618.06.05, yet the fonts remain the same.

I use opera mini more than the inbuild browser do to the share ease of use and speed now i did not find a way to change text colour in the Opera so if thats possible then ok … but othervise its useless for me and thats a shame as this is my favorite theme

Cool theme.
2 problems
1. Text in the built-in browser url box is white on white. Impossible to see what you’re typing
2. The battery bars are out of focus. This seems to be a general problem with all the custom themes I’ve tried. The default theme’s bars are perfect

Try “Ctrl” + B to make the font bold.

I’d like to see a different font used for the “Digital” clock. The current font is difficult to read quickly. Personally, the E62 “grey lines” font for the digital clock is excellent for a quick glance and it doesn’t take up too much space. Maybe something like Twenty Century Condensed. . . .
Beautiful theme - nice work!

Nice theme, but there is a problem with Opera mini when you try to enter the form on the web site there is a Symbian system window opens and there is a black background from the theme and the font color the black as well, so you can’t see what you type. I use Opera mini for traffic reasons, so don’t tell me to use another browser, I would appreciate if the author could fix it. Thanks.

The theme is great, just as the one before already was. Problem is the already named browser problem and the font of the digital clock. I liked it more the way it was before. If these change, than the theme is perfect. Thank you.

I don’t care for a crap theme that got revised like 200 times. I want the dark stripes theme. That Alex dude should give this a rest and make us the dark stripes theme. He shouldn’t feel to proud about it, since this theme is also a ripoff from Nokia’s original theme.

I love this theme! It really punches out with the white on the jet black background. Stunning!

its a great theme,IMO. just the fact that the fontfor the clock is far from desirable, especially the 7 number, it is out of line witht he other numbers.otherwise, it rocks, imitation or not

Great looking theme, unfortunately I have yet to figure out how to load it on my E-61. When I click on the file or the “Download” button, I get a white file filled with garbage. I am a newby - had the phone for exactly 24 hours - so go easy on me if I am missing something obvious. Please help, if you can.

Expired Certificate error….Help? changed security settings, reset date/time, re-copied files, reboot….anything else to try?

Zumii,
Expired Certificate error
1. Set the date of your device back one year
2. Install the theme
3. Set the date of your device correctly.
That’s it.
