Nokia E62 Themes
You know the drill by now - it's Friday and time for some great themes for your Nokia E62 and E61. First up is D3 who put together a great theme (a bit eerie and mystic).
Storm By D3
Next up are two new themes by Beemer. The below theme sure explains his nick name
BMW Z4 By Beemer
Golf Fanatic By Beemer
Pearl Black, which I have raved about before has reached the final version - 2.70 Final
Want even more themes? Head this way.
Having problems installing the themes or getting the "Certificate Error" message? then read this. Do you have any themes you would like to share with the rest of us - drop me a line.

Themes seem to never change Icons. Those Icons look Terrible with that theme.

Thanks Ed! Installed the first theme (Storm) and its really cool. Makes me wish I had the talent to create a theme. This was actually the first theme I liked enough to download so Im looking forward to next friday’s themes for more

i installed the new pearl, and the most important overlook is still there - when in the browser, the type is white on white still, making it pretty much unusable.
( unless somehow installing it didnt overwrite the older version )
if you have any pull with him tell him to fix! because this is the smoothest theme yet by far, very clear and easy to read.

Is that black phone (the very left one) in the ‘Pearl Black’ picture a N70? I though it only came in silver, and the buttons are black too?

i am liking what i see so far. i am a cingular customer, and was trying to debate if i wanted to buy it online unlocked, or get it from cingular. do you know if there are any major differences between the E61 that you have and the E62 that cingular carries?
also, if i buy it locked from cingular, do you know where i might be able to find the unlock code for it.

One of the best themes i’ve seen so far….great job…
November 5th, 2006 at 3:22 am
Storm is really great.
Furious : There is a major difference between the e61 and the e62 : The e62 is not Wifi compatible.

Pearl Black cannot install on my E61. “Unable to install” is the error message I get. This is the only theme giving me this problem (previous versions as well). Security certificates have been disabled… Any similar experience?
November 6th, 2006 at 3:19 am
Hi TC
I have exactly the same problem with the new PearlBlack version. The prior versions installed without problems.
(Same phone and settings as you.)
Can anybody help?

bug: in browser input and background are both white color!
mediaplayer: background no nice, other work fine.
November 6th, 2006 at 2:45 pm
I have the pearl installed too. When you create an email message in the GMail client the text is black on that black background you so you can’t see it. SMS messages appear white on black.

E62 Cingular vs E61 Unlocked.
Bottom-line: With the E62 - which I have - you can install any of the software currently on offer (applications that actually work on an E61).
With an E61 you get wifi and UMTS service which is incompatible with the UMTS spectrum used Stateside.
So the E62 has the disadvantage of no WiFi and the advantage of not carrying around 3G technology which won’t work here anyway.

I too had problems installing the pearl Balck theme this time. Solution is to go to your tools folder and open application manager, you can now delete all previous versions of Pearl Black, once you’ve done this then install the latest version and all should be good! worked for me…

I would like to take my hat off to D3 for the Storm theme. It is by far the highest quality theme I have seen for the E61. Great work.. this has inspired me to have a go myself.

Dear All,
I have been searching for a way to delete themes that are installed on the memory card but do not appear in the application manager on my E61. I have installed for example Pearl Black ~fire edition~ and I can not delete it or even reinstall it. I think many people are awaiting for a solution

D3, can you give any hints on how you got your background graphic on the status bar to align correctly? I am using Carbide.ui 3.1 but the background is offset by 20 or so pixels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Amjad, not sure this will help but I had a problem where a theme did show in the app. manager but I couldn’t uninstall or re-install it. I fixed this by removing and re-inserting the memory card and trying again.

Hi I have the same problem. I get a unable to install error too. Here is how the error came along.
1) A theme was installed in an old memory 64mb card.
2) I bought a new 1GB card and set it up in phone.
3) I formatted my old 64mb card so i could sell it off.
4) I tried to restall some old themes and get this error.
5) But the old themes are not showing up in app manager, so I could not uninstall the old themes.
6) I had a few programs on my old 64mb card that had similar install issues like golf pro. When i installed it, it detected an installed version and asked me if i wanted to install over the old copy. I said yes, but what it did was it installed a second copy of the game. So now I have 2 references in app manager. I unstalled both, and reinstalled it fine the next time.
7) Thus my conclusion is it has to do with some reference registry ON the phone itself. Anyone know how to pull it up so that it can be manually be reinstalled?

Hi! Every time I try to install this theme on my Nokia E62, it shows a message that says “error in the certificate”. What should I do to correct it? Thanks for your attention. Cintia

Hi Cintia,
The problem and the solution is described here:

Pearl Black theme is awesome! …
But, I have one major gripe … when I launch the browser and type in a URL the address bar the address bar’s background is white and so is the text. Everywhere in the theme this seems to have been addressed, so although it says “final,” I’m hoping a 2.71 will be released.

December 2nd, 2006 at 11:47 pm
Henry,
Make sure that you are not using the Theme you are trying to delete. Choose another Theme and delete the Theme using the application manager.

I’ve used Pearl Black final version for a while. Very well done! There are only two little bugs: with opera mini and cCalc it’s almost impossible to read black text on black background.
December 14th, 2006 at 1:42 am
the version is still 1.00 ?
i downloaded it from this link:http://www.box.net/public/yelojvit2m

December 20th, 2006 at 3:49 am
Hello again all.
Ross i would love to that for you and all E50 users but i had a computer crash few months ago and i lost everything that was on it,all my theme work, all my photoshop work etc. everything. I still havent got the tools to make Nokia themes,i just dont have the time,so im sorry to say that Strom theme will stay the way it is and all my other themes. As i said to the adimn, i will make more themes when i get more time so stay tuned.
December 20th, 2006 at 2:15 pm
I love the Storm theme. I am not a big fan of themes for mobile phones but I always found the default Nokia theme a bit bland, and this is so great! Congratulations D3, and I hope you are getting over your hard drive crash.

Sergio Lopes de Souza Junior,
This could be the answer to your question:

The storm is a not nice pic….too bad your spelling is off. It says “stormfiled_D3. I can only assume you Stormfield. It always amaze me how folks can do some of the most complicated things like make themes, but can’t do the simplest things like spell.
