Nokia E62 For $49, eh I mean $99
A few days ago I noticed that the price for the Nokia E62 on Cingular had come down to an amazingly low $49! for online activated accounts. I was writing a positive post about Cingular when I decided to make sure that the price was actually $49. To my surprise I noticed that Cingular had removed the $50 online activation rebate so the effective price is $99.

$99 is still a *great* price for the Nokia E62 and $50 cheaper than what I paid for my device :-( I hope some of you had the time to snag the Nokia E62 for a mere $49! I don't know exactly how long that price was effective but it lasted at least a week.

Good lord!!!!! They are just giving these things away aren’t they. Its amazing. I upgraded my Sony Ericsson S710a so I paid a fabulous $180 - the $40 I sold my old phone for. Not a bad buy IMO. Its really a nice phone. Im still peeved about the crippled J2ME support tho. But Im ever hopeful. The phone has only been selling with Cingular for less than 2 months so Im hoping for firmware updates soon…or some more lax settings for Java.

in order to get it for that price, you have to get the cingular version of a blackberry account. which is $49.99 per month. and the guy at the store told me it would be best if you keep it for 3 months since that is how long it will take the rebate to come back.
he said when people buy stuff for the rebate and then cancel it, they have come back to the store mad because they did not get the rebate. i ended up spending $200 for mine, with an extension on my contract. i am ok with that because if i leave my contract, i pay them $150, and that plus the cost of the phone is still cheaper than i have seen the phone online anywhere

the nokia e62 is a quad based phone. it works on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz based networks. as far as the wi-fi goes….it would be nice to have, but the cingular wireless service is pretty fast. and i have my laptop with me most of the time.
besides, if there is something that you need to do that requires you to be logged in for a long time, do you really want to do that on your phone? just asking, not trying to be a smart ass, but i would rather long connections be done on the laptop.

This is the phone! I bought my E61 from eBay for 330 and then after a while the price went UP almost $400. This is amazing! This is the first time that my phone’s price has gone UP after purchase. I’m happy

The trick is not go to the “CINGULAR” store, especially in Malls. I picked up my wife’s 6682 for $25 in Jan ‘06 with MIR ofcourse. The best deals are often in Chinese or Indian owned cell dealerships. I know one a few Iselin, NJ.
Also had picked up SLVR $0 (2 yr + data plan) w/ 512Mb card in Feb’06. I had to renew my contract and was eagerly awaiting E61; hence, picked up the SLVR as a gift for my bro. Only to later find out that Cingular just 9300 to their line
would hv picked up that instead. Oh well…. I bloody happy with my E61..though.
