Great Things To Come - Native Salling Clicker For Nokia E61
For the past week or so I have been fortunate enough to been part of the beta program for the next version of Salling Clicker. (For those of you who are unfamiliar with this A*M*A*Z*I*N*G piece of software you can read an earlier post about SC or go to Salling Clicker)
I can't disclose any details of the new version except that it is a native S60 3rd edition software and it is even better than previous versions.

Keep up the excellent work Jonas!

Will they ever release it? It has been over a year since the last release!!!! Maybe they will release it with Vista!

Good news!
It’s one my favourite software. A must on my Mac and on my portable device!

The java version works on my E70…but I’d sure like a native version! Speaking of which…how about some more E70 posts? You haven’t had an E70 post since July! The name E-Series.org is a bit misleading…
I love the theme postings, though! Keep ‘em up!

it worked fine with my macbook through bluetooth. I could not figure out how to connect it using wifi. I opened up the port on my router as well, but nothing seemed to happen. The java software on my e60 wants to connect through bluetooth. Anyone had luck with the wifi ? Please share if so
Cheers!

when will they release this version?
the JAVA version doesn’t support WIFI! Wifi only works with the native client - and that one isn’t released yet for s3v60
ahh

I don’t think the Java version of salling clicker for S60 v3 works with wifi just yet =\

Nice, can’t wait for this

Josh: I’ve been told the E62 works with the native (beta) version.
david (and others): I do not know when it’ll be ready, but I’m working hard on making it happen ASAP.
as for wifi: yes, the native client has wifi support, and I think you’re all going to love how it works.
Best.

go jonas for making such a great piece of software… i have a e61 runing the java client… cant wait for the s60v3 to come out… CAN I BETA?

Im confused as to why this piece of software is so critical? I can see how it would be great when leading a discussion with powerpoints and the like, but otherwise I fail to see its usefulness in the home…maybe someone can clarify how it is so useful to them?

Cameron, I use Salling Clicker all the time. I have an Airport Express hooked up to my living room stereo. I stream my iTunes music to it from my computer, which is upstairs. Salling Clicker is great because it allows me remote access to my entire iTunes library without ever having to go upstairs. If I want to listen to a certain record while cooking, I just turn on the stereo, connect with Clicker and open iTunes, then pick out what I want to listen to.
I used to use it to check my email, but since I’ve bought the E61, I just use the WiFi.
Salling Clicker is a lazy man’s dream-come-true!

I was unable to install the Java version as the install failed. Authorization failed. I have certificate security set to allow apps to install but this just won’t go in. Had this on my previous Nokia and always freaked out my clients by using my phone to control my Mac!

@Cameron
Imagine to control you Mac via BT. Imagine to use your phone as universal remote to control most of multimedial feature of your Mac. Imagine this software. Salling Clicker does it better!

Doug…are you using an E62? You might have the same issue many Cingular based E62 users are facing which is Java is severely crippled. Hopefully a solution can be had quickly.

Works a treat on my E61 - fantastic piece of software - purchased after 30 clicks - can’t wait for the final release! Doesn’t use theme colours but who cares.
November 14th, 2006 at 3:00 pm
Yes I am using an E62. I hadn’t heard anything about Java not being robust on the Cingular branded device. thanks for the info and insight

This is a great application, thanks for sharing and I cannot wait for this to work on my Cingular Branded E62.
Thanks for the great site too!

Hey I have an E62 also and I believe Cingular had something to do with as usual. They also crippled the RealPlayer on the device.
