Cingular Nokia E62 - Free
Black Friday, Friday after Thanksgiving, is historically the busiest retail shopping day in the US. It’s not for the faint of heart as a gazillion people storm the shopping malls for the best bargains.
Speaking of bargains I noticed that the Cingular Nokia E62 is free, with free shipping included, if you buy it with a Cingular contract through the Nokia USA store.
That’s a better deal than if you buy it directly from a Cingular store. If you are in the market for a Cingular Nokia E62 I suggest you also read the comments on my previous post on this topic. There is some good advice, regarding price, for prospective buyers.

Perhaps its worth waiting a little longer for the announcement of some new Nokia E-series devices? As far as I know, its not confirmed they (E61i, E65….) will release new, but still worth waiting a little longer…hopefully.

Like all shopping, patience pays off. I paid $150 for the E62 just a couple of months ago.

Hi Big,
If it is any comfort, I paid the same! But at least we got the device early

I am in the same boat guys. I paid $180 for mine the day AFTER it was released on Cingular’s website. This is the problem with technology today, the first to buy it pay the premium cause its so new but a few months later its already dropped in price. I purchased my Sony LCD tv back in August for $2500 and its already sub $2000. Such is life I suppose

Yup it sure is. It’s the “tax” for early adopters
November 25th, 2006 at 11:55 pm
The “tax” for early adopters you are speaking of… I don’t really like this either because I love to be the first with new tech gadgets (I got my E61 in the summer, only a while after release).

Hey dudes, be happy for it ! Here in France none telecom operator have an offer with the new Nokia E62…
I got my E61 in the beginning of Fall and paid 429 € for it, the “tax” for early adopters is more expensive in Europe

Guys, I paid $350 for E61 back in August and I don’t even regret…
November 26th, 2006 at 1:12 am
I say it means Cingular is not selling so many e62s..I took one back because of the lack of wifi. I feel like I paid too much for an e61 in mid OCT 2006, buts it’s OK for now, i’d feel really low if an e61 replacement comes out soon. Best deal I saw for an e61 recently was J+R in Manhattan for $169 w a 2-year T-Mobile agreement.

I paid 410 euro in july in Romania and I am proud of it. I don’t understand why the american friends complain about the bargain of E 62 (150-180 dollars). I adde to my E61 another 600 euro ( 2 GB card, games, programs, leather case…) and I feel no regret. It’s a great phone and it deserves the best!
November 26th, 2006 at 8:59 pm
I paid over $600 for the E61 in early Summer (June?) and haven’t regreted it since.

In India, I purchased the E61 for Rs 20,000 (approximately US$ 450). The price has dropped another $50 since but no regrets. One advantage we have here is that the phones aren’t operator locked!!

Errr… gents… i paid EUR 92 whilst extending my subscription with my provider just this month…
Just got my E61 nicely from my dutch rep
November 27th, 2006 at 5:03 am
i got my e61 at rs.18000 one and a half months back. $410

Wow ! Here is the blog of “E61 ’round the world”
it seems there is a bug with the SIP and VoIP. Here in France, I can use it with only one WLAN so it’s not so useful…
and you ’round the world, do you have the same bug ?

I own the nokia E62 and work for cingular part time the rumor that i hear is that nokia is going to launch a E series phone in the US that is UMTS. This is the only other feature that my E62 should have.. I europe It does Why not in the US? come on nokia get with it!! do not loose sales to the new samsung blackjack!!
November 27th, 2006 at 12:46 pm

I got my E61 in Hong Kong for around HK$3600 (US$ 460). It bundled with 512MB mini-SD card so I can replace my BlackBerry 7100 and Sony Ericcson S700i immediately with one single device. After I have used it for three months, I upgraded the memory to 1GB. I now have 200 songs (in eACC+ format) and about 2 hours of video programs all in one single device.
While the E61 have excellent voice quality comparing with the S700i (the BlackBerry’s voice quality, regrettably, is just adequate), the greatest bonus of owning a E61 is the access to this wonderful community of great blogs. With all these free utilities and great advises, I am able to utilitize my E61 to the max.

I paid around $400 last month, then got the 120X miniSD for it. Its unlocked and has WiFi… no point getting it from a provider even for $150 without WiFi. Same for blackjack, good powerful windows phone, but again no WiFi!

Hey! I bought my E61 for 320 euro back in August. Till now to date, the price has fallen by only some small amount. After all there’s a price for everthing! Like to get something first, there’s a price. Hehehe!
Adios.

This could be a really nice fun BUT….There is no support from either Cingular or Nokia.
The front screen is large plastic and scratches easily. You can not get parts for the device. The only option is to send back to Nokia and wait 2 weeks for repair or send back to Cingular warranty, and possibly not be charged for a new unit.
I was told you can use the device as a wireless card…Not so, if you use the Blackberry Connect option.
Right now I am ready to start a class action suit against both Cingular and Nokia.

I was searching for games for e62 and found this site.. there has been quite some discussion… I got E62 for free no mail in rebate … Ofcourse it is with cingular and so had to sign a 2yr contract. I also got a Nokia Blue tooth with this phone for free…
February 17th, 2007 at 10:03 pm
I have to say that i like this phone.. Paid $150 for it. I see this it is offeresd for free on many sites, but they are forcing you to not only sign a 2 yr contract but you also have to get a 39.99 data plan plus 39.99 voice plan for the full 2 years. Thats alot to be locked into. Just my 2 cents.

where do I find detailed help on moving pictures from a pc to my E62? I am not that computer literate.
April 12th, 2007 at 3:21 pm
Hi Richard,
Use PC suite. You can easily copy or just drag and drop images from your PC to a folder on the Nokia E62 if you use the “File Manager” on PC suite.
Good luck!

I must be dumb. I cannot find the Mail icon in the Control Panel.

Hi. Here in venezuela, I paid about 360$, plus the line price for my e62, and my only complaint is (was, and will be) the lack of wifi. Why they didn’t put wifi support in america? Will never know…
