Nokia E61 & Gmask
If you want to pimp your Nokia E61 but don’t want to paint it or replace the face plates you could wrap it using decorative plastic film from companies such as Gmask.
Gmask has stores in a number of countries for an example Singapore, Philippines, Australia and Malaysia. They will wrap and decorate your device, basically any gadget, in a few microns thick plastic film.
Judging by the photos they do a great job. I can’t wait for Gmask, or a similar company, to come to San Francisco.

Have photos of a pimped Nokia E60, E61, E70 or E50 that you would like to share with us? Please drop me a note.

Thank you XeM!

That is an amazing idea and would be a big hit in North America. Hope to see one in Montreal, Canada. It seems like the equivalent of a tattoo…

… and even uglier than a tatoo it seems judging from the pictures. Oh dear, i guess i’ll never understand this compulsive modding craze.

If only modding I’d go for my E61 would be something like changing it to 8801 metal/black housing. However, only concern be adding more weight to E61

No problem Ed, i think it’s quite a gd and safe idea (as i am quite clumsy with those littles screws if i’d to change the original cases myself).

Interesting. There’s one coming to Melbourne in January. Will have to check it out to see the quality up close.

I bought the skins off of ebay. They were cute, but frankly not very functional. They didn’t wrap all the way around the phone.

[...] I’ve received a lot of emails after the initial post about Gmask - the innovative company that wraps gadgets in a decorative and protective plastic film. Unfortunately, there are no Gmask stores in Europe or North America (yet). Until then, here are a few more examples of their great moddings. [...]

Im from the philippines and saw numerous branches of them. but i have trouble with their prices and designs. They are very expensive and designs are too limited. and if i want to have a customized design, i need to wait two weeks at least and pay in advance. Luckily i found a local version of gmask. Its called TECHSKIN. The same quality yet more affordable and more designs to choose from. They even customize designs right there and then. with no added cost. hope there will be more of techskin in the country.
