Greetings to all E-series lovers...

I really with much of the "requirements" mentioned above, as they are really missing items and things that people would look for in a device of this class (and price)...

And, for ppl recommending applications, for like time-based profile changing... Why would I need to BUY an extra application when a much simpler phone implements it? I'm not talking about using my phone as a remote control. It's not expected simply from a phone. But, having more LED notifications or changing profiles or multiple alarms... These are not extras and I would not need to buy anything other than my PHONE to get these...

Nokia would have no force upon us, it's beloved customers, to go and spend more money, just to feed some company that relies on Symbian programming... At least, they can provide what others do...

Greetz and respect...

Heres a few suggestions off the top of my head in no particular order:

- The phone has some ability to do text-to-speech for reading out contact names for example. What about being able to tell it to read emails/SMS messages out aloud while you are driving. Very handy.

- The font size for emails is way too big. Why can't we have the same zooming in/out ability for emails that the browser has? Or at least be able to specify a font size for it to use.

- Speaking of which, the zoom feature in the browser only goes down to 50%. There are times where it would be good to zoom out even more.

- What about a "open link in new window" feature in the browser? Just like a real one...

- Fix the annoying clicking between tracks when listening to music via headphones.

I am surprised that no one seems to want a financial calculator. A business phone without a business calculator seems a bit pointless. The spreadsheet app is too bug ridden to be a substitute. Also an auto disconnect from wlan would be handy. I browse and forget to disconnect, and am pissed when i get back to the phone an hour later and the battery is gone. The podcast app is amazing. Just wish it woild remember up to where i listened last and continued from there. All in all I love the phone though! Good job Nokia!

What I'm really missing? A decent PIM. Oh if only Agendus would make a version for Symbian S60V3...............

Papyrus doesn't work for me. With meeting times behind the text it is not clear enough.
I now use Aquacalendar, latest version is OK but it lacks a weekview with blocks and needs too many buttons to be pushed before entering a meeting.

What about a more full-featured address book that allows searching for more than just first name/last name?
Got users that want to see all contacts in a given region or given company name, for example. Treo 650 does it.
Current work-around is not great, but make First Name = Company Name, Last Name = Owner's first & last name. Great for the phone, but can't sync with Notes or Outlook in that format.

Does anyone else have a problem with files not appearing in file manager? I mean, no files at all. There are files on the phone, but they aren't in file manager.

I also have many invisible email messages eating up memory because I had to uninstall blackberry connect and reinstall it on the extended memory card.
Almost all of my phone memory is eaten up by data I can't even see.

And I agree that the voice recorder button is in an awful location. I'm constantly turning it on by mistake.

Overall, I still love the phone. Just want to solve my issues.

I have an e61 with firmware 2.0618.06.05 . i have the same problem with the sound on the music player--for each new song i must adjust the volume in order for it to come through in hi-fidelity. unacceptable.

The wi-fi is not good. I have to turn off the power-saving in order to get decent wi-fi reception, and to use SIP internet phone capabilities, which results in very poor battery life. If I am connected to the network, I can get around three or four hours out of a battery. No es bueno.

After latest firmware update, I cannot access the "call" menu under tools>settings. It just takes me back to the general menu when I click on "call". Anyone else have this problem? It would seem serious, if not in fact dire. i first noticed this when i tried to adjust the default settings for my voice-recognition dialing. is there any other way to change this aside from tools>settings>call ?

i have probelms with my gps unit, lp3w, though im not sure if this has anything to do with the e61. It seems to work with the satellites only when it wants to, which is obviously dissapointing.

i get "enhancement not supported" frequently when i attempt to attach my nokia stereo headset to the popport of the e61. Later, it works fine. I don't understand how this is... how well do bluetooth stereo headphones work? I am scared of owning yet another personal effect that requires charging, but right now the option seems fairly attractive....

otherwise, I am quite happy with this phone. it is by far the greatest phone i have ever owned, though admittedly I don't come from a land of pda and treos.

How could I forget the eBay client in my earlier comment??

_The_killer_app_ I'm dreaming of is an eBay client/alarm where you enter an item# and let the E61 fix the rest. The version 1.0 should be an alarm device (auction end "sync") and version 2.0 should be able to bid in the last 5 seconds (not easy with slow access/low bandwidth) - even turned off in the middle of the night? :)
