Advanced Calculator for the Nokia E61
In a previous post I was lamenting over the “weak” calculator included on the Nokia E61. That was before I knew about Welic’s free and amazingly powerful advanced calculator.
The application provides more functionality than what the vast majority of calculator users’ would ever want. But for those of you who want a robust calculator this is it. It is programmable, supports trigonometric functions as well as base-N mode and logical operations.
The application is available from Welic’s website.
A big thank you to CK~!

I just tried this calculator this morning and had a couple of remarks. I 2 hours there were 2 updates with fixes for the remarks I had! Great service!

It works the same way as Calcium but has more features and is faster in startup. Thumps up!

Does anybody know of a financial calculator for E61?
Interested in TVM, IRR functions, etc.

Great and elegant app., absolutely a “must have” !! Thanks, keep it up.

Anybody in cCalc on E61 and the formula got wrong result? Example, enter number 20 for the formula “gal:l”, you should get 75.70823568. One user report he get the answer 60, which beat me.

Great software! Was looking for a calculator and found it! Thanks!
I notice that it does not follow the math precedence i.e. multiply first before addition etc…it will be great if it has that!
nevertheless, great software!

Hi Welic,
This is great, I’ve been waiting for a base calc forever!
Question: what’s the proper way to exit the app? The only way I can see to quit is using the Menu -> ‘C’ key. Is there a more standard Exit keystroke that I’m missing?
thanks!
feature request: enable Pencil key to allow Copy to Clipboard of calculation results.
December 15th, 2006 at 8:40 am
@staffan: the need for the blue key in Calcium is there due to a feature (or bug, if you like) in the latest E61 firmware (that is, any 2.x version).
December 18th, 2006 at 8:22 am
Great application, congratulations!
Just 1 feature I miss:
Multiplication and devision are NOT made before addition and subtraction.
Example:
12+3×7 = 12+(3×7) = 33 | correct!
But the calculation of cCalc is:
12+3×7 = (12+3)x7 = 105 which is wrong.

Hi Admin (is there a name?)
Thanks. I think this forum is just what I needed to exploit the full potential of the e-61. its awesome.
A question - not sure if a forum already exists for this. How do i enable yahoo/gmail push on e61. I did all the settings but everytime i try to “retrieve email” i keep getting prompted for the email id and password..
thanks

Anybody want to try beta copy of cCalc v1.05 which include parentheses and repect of mathematical precedence, please email me at welic@pacific.net.sg.

It is really a great software. It is fast, simple and key layout is good. I believe Welic has a good thought of making it user friendly but not simply dumping the functions onto E61. Besides, the software size is extremely small — even smaller than Calcium where there are only 4 substraction, addition, multiplication and division. Good work Welic, it is impressive.

Happy New Year 2007.
I just release cCalc version 1.06.
January 3rd, 2007 at 4:34 am
Thanks for the update welic! Really loved your software!
However, it can’t seem to install on my E61 with the latest firmware 3.0633.09.04. Do you know anyway to circumvent it?

I too had an issue installing (upgrading) cCalc with the v3 firmware, but then I uninstalled the old version of cCalc then successfully installed the newest!

Hello
I use this application with my E (V.edition) and i think it’s a lot better than the original calculator since it’s way faster to use and have more features.
But i think there is a bug. Ex. when i type
16,270-15,419 the calculator says = 0,850999999999 instead of 0,851.
Thanks

Claus,
You can use FIX to limit the decimal digit.
Arif,
cCalc can support up to 15 digits.. so does cCalc fit your bill?
April 18th, 2007 at 3:39 am
It doesn’t work with my NOKIA E61
April 18th, 2007 at 8:30 am
Hi Karol,
If you explain why it isn’t working, what kind of error message you get someone could actually help you. Just saying “it doesn’t work” makes it impossible to help you.

cCalcPro is obviously very good. But I wonder why in percentge calculations one has to press the = key before pressing the per cent key to get the required percentage.
For instance, if you want 40% of 600, the usual method is to press the percent key immediately after entering 600×40. But in cCalc, you have to enter 600×40=24000 and then press the per cent key to get the answer 240.

When I tried to install calcPro 1.09 to my brand new E61i, I got the message “This program is not compatibel with this telephone” So I cancelled the installation to avoid any problems. Can the program be installed in spite of the message? I would love to have it running

cCalcPro is great, thanks Welic! I’m so used to RPN calculators after my HP-32SII, does anyone know of any RPN scientific calcs for S60 - or is there any plan for cCalcRPN :)?

cCalc seems very good! There’s only one problem: cCacl needs the pencil button, but my phone (Nokia 6120) hasn’t one.
Is there any solution?
Thanks for help!
December 19th, 2007 at 5:56 am
It seems to work without pencil button
February 16th, 2008 at 10:34 am
Welic’s cCalcPro’s calculator program ia well designed, however, it lacked the basic statistical functions which are essential for a business calculator such as the E61(i).

Not much to add, great piece of software !
Amazingly much better than any other I have tested, powerful, easily customizable, though very simple to use, and free !
The best calculator you could imagine for a compact smartphone like Nokia E65.
Bravissimo !

Great application! Runs great in my E51, and is really well developed. Thanks, Welic, for making this great freeware tool!

Hi Welic! Great app you’ve done!
One thing I do not seem to find an answer to : In formulas, is it possible to use the Memory results ? Something like :
x*MR
In any case, congratulations on your work!
