Got a Nokia E61 and a Mac?
Got a Nokia E61 and a Mac? Here’s something for you.
As we all know there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of love between Nokia and Apple. There is no Mac version or support for PC Suite. Luckily there are plug-ins (Mactomster & NovaMedia) and other tricks to make iSync work with the Nokia E61.
When I first got my S60 device I was surprised by the lack of information about S60 and Mac. It always struck me as a big black hole. Luckily I think things might be changing.
Paul has started a beautiful site dedicated to S60 and Mac. On the site there are some great Mac OS themes, above and below, as well as information about iSync. In the future there will be more information added about S60 and Mac (OS).

DT. you first need to select another theme. Then run the uninstaller from app manager.

I have an issue after having installed the themes. They all work great but I cannot de-install some of them with app mgr as they do not show up in the list. Any idea how to correct this annoying problem?

DT: Just activate another theme, then try to uninstall it.

Do you have the option to remove the theme from within the themes menu. It used to be that way on earlier phones. This problem is not tied to my themes as it has been mentioned earlier on this site. I would suggest untill someone comes up with a solution to this problem, to anyone in the future, to back up your phone to your memeory card before installing. This way you can revert back if you get any problems. I wish I could be of more help but I only have a N73.

I didn’t be able to install on my Nokia 6630: every time I try to install, the error message is “FILE CORRUPTED” (”File Danneggiato” in italian).

Hi,
I can’t seem to sync my E61 to my G5 Powermac via Bluetooth!
I’m running 10.3.9
Any suggestions will be MOST helpful.
Thanks,

From what I can gather you need to be running 10.4 for most of the plugin mods to work. Have a look here http://www.mactomster.de/isync or my own site if you wish. Mine is only for 10.4. I do not know of a solution for privious versions of OS X. My be someone else can shed some light on this subject.

I installed the mactomster iSync a few months ago. But I do not get the Address Book groups in the phone categories. Is there anyway to do that?
Thanks

To the best of my knowledge it can not be done yet. We will have to wait until apple update their support.

Nope. Tried switching, turning the phone on and off, on/off remove the card, etc etc, all did not work.
I had to reformat my phone.
As they say install at your own risk.

I had to hard reset my phone and tried to reinstall the Mac theme on my phone. But it said the certificate expired. Wah! The link to the website above doesn’t have the theme anymore. Do you know where I can get it or perhaps someone can email it me?

Just change your phone date setting to year 2006, then install the themes. After that you can change your setting back to now.

I wonder where the themes ARE ?
I just can found them in the site–(http://www.s60themes.co.uk/)
And… I know how to reinstall the themes which cannot be found in the remove tools.
Mail me if anyone need help.
