Since firmware 2, catalogs can be found on the desktop of E61 and also in the Tools folder.

drqandil: what do you mean by since firmware 2, catalogs can be found on desktop and tools folder? meaning there are two icons?

I think the problem may be that the Catalogs app is unsupported in the US. Note that the application download isn't on Nokia's USA website, it's on their Asia and Europe sites. I downloaded and installed the Nokia Europe version of the Catalog app. It installed okay but I don't have any catalogs when I run the app or refresh. (I've got a Cingular Nokia E62 in the U.S.)

Quoting from Nokia's Catalog app FAQ at http://www.nokia.com/A4228136 :
13. Catalogs is not working, what is wrong?
Most likely you have no data (GPRS / WCDMA) connection or coverage. Check your network settings and try again. Note however that in some countries, the Catalogs icon may be present in your menu but "empty" (that is, nothing happens when you select it) because the service is not yet supported in your area. In this case, please also try again later as new content is being regularly added.

When posters say it's working/not working for them, they should detail: Nokia model, wireless carrier, country they are in.

I keep getting authorization failed when I try to install Java applications on my E62 (VNC, RDM etc). How can I resolve that. Neither Cingular nor Shapeservices have been able to fix and each blames the other. Any solution for that?

i have Cingular E62, I used the download link provided by ase499, there was no problems during the installation. However when I updated the catalog, it says, "No catalogs. Select Options/Refresh list to download."
I tried several times already including restart the application, but it still doesn't work... anybody know why?

Hi Admin :

How do we unistall the previous version of catalog ? The reason i ask this is because when i try to install the new ver i get an error :

"'Catalogs' already exists. Replace version 3.00 with 3.01 ?"

When i say "OK" It says :

"Unable to install, component is built in"

How do i get around either uninstall the previous ver or get rid of this issue ?

Any assistance is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Looks like if you have trouble downloading it, you have to do it through updating the catalog on your phone itself. I just did it via Wi-Fi :D Fast&Easy! Sorry Cingular E62 users, this option is not for you! :P Go complain to Cingular for ripping off its Wi-Fi and RIPPING YOU OFF!

I am using firmware release 2 on an unbranded, unlocked e61 with the APAC keyboard. I found the catalog under the tools folder, downloaded the Team Suite along with Quick Office.

All seems to work OK. (And others' experiences with locked phones just confirms my sentiments: never buy a locked phone if you expect to use all its features)
