Red Nokia E61
Let’s face it - colour sells and I’m glad that Nokia is finally picking up on that. In the meanwhile you can do something about it yourself and “visually enhance” your Eseries device just like Isaac did.
He bought red face plates for his Nokia E61 from the eBay seller Facestation.
Thanks for the great photos Isaac.

Hello,
it is great to see what ideas can be realized with modding; the only thing I need to know before is any kind of instruction how to unmount and -even more important- mount the phone correctly afterwards.
Does anybody know a URL where it is explained ?
Thanks in advance
tinko

Hi there,
I’d like to know if the plastic is as hard as the original one and if it fits super well: when I used to have a Nokia 6600 I bought several covers from eBay and I must admit 60% of them were not fitting the phone as the original one.
Beside the instructions here on this blog: is it hard to mount this new cover? I mean: can a beginner do that?

Hi,
i wonder if there are E60 mods anywhere out, or is there a company who would do the painting in germany?

Vinx is my hero.
i want a good black cover with black keypad!

For those of you asking about painting… there’s 2 options
(1) Buy a coloured facia
(2) Get onto some computer modding forums and check out their painting tutorials.

Can Isaac comment on the quality of housing? To his assessment what is the quality?
January 30th, 2007 at 5:47 am
Yes would be interesting to see the quality of the housing compared to the original one that is awesome
January 30th, 2007 at 5:48 am
JD, the quality is very good. it’s not hard though like metall like the original E61 grey housing but still keeps the quality of “hardness” that nokia uses on its phones.

hi,
i recently installed one of these faceplates and have noticed that the volume seems to be much quieter when talking on my e61 with the new faceplate. is this normal??? is there some way of increasing it? it is turned up all the way.
thanks,

I recived the black housing i’ve bought from facestation ebay user and it’s broken on the keypad grid, it’s made of light plastic and the paint it’s removed in 2 parts (like scratched away).
totally un-happy. be aware.
