Windows Live Messenger, which we wrote about here, has found a new home. The previously available client from Microsoft China stopped working, or at least is no longer free.

However, the same Windows Live Client client is available as a download from, among other sites, Nokia Hong Kong. The client is free (for now) and works great on my English language Nokia E61.

When I first installed the application I looked in my "installat" file but couldn't find it. I tried installing it again but got a message saying that the application was already installed. Hmmm. It turns out that the application gets installed to a separate folder called "Internet" so don't look for the application in the "Installat" folder.
Thanks for the tip Darla, David and everyone else!
Any updates on this?
Cheers!
there is a certicate error that won’t let me sign in to widows live messenger, will it be fixed?
i got a little trick from my friend who used to have my E61 phone. She said if you got “certification expired” when installing an application, you can get it installed by first change you current time and date setting. change it into year like 2007 or 2006. it worked when i was installing my new themes. happy trying
btw, i successfully downloaded and installed windows live messenger on my E61. thank you for posting the link.
