The DST 2007 problem does apply to the E62. I was having the wrong meeting times for the whole week this week. Fortunately, I just tried the patch for E61 (following the link on the first post) on my E62. And it seemed to have worked properly on the E62 as well.

Hi. I got an E61 and I live in Brazil.
In my region the Daylight saving time doesn't work, so I'm one hour later than the oficial hour.

How can I change my E61 so it doesn't update the clock?

Actually, the bug also applies if the carrier sends out the time zone offset incorrectly... Up in Toronto, Rogers started sending out GMT-4 as it's time zone offset on March 11th, but of course the E62 picked that up as GMT-3, since it adjusted for an _extra_ hour.

I suspect the problem is a combination of the DST issue and the offset that the _carrier_ is sending out. The E62 is trying to be smart about DST, whereas most phones _won't_ do this, so it ends up being up to the carrier to specify the DST offset when they send out their time sync.

Actually, it appears the E62 *does* have a DST bug. But it isn't what you'd expect. If you hard set it to your time zone, it works fine. If you use the default "Network Time = Auto-Update," it breaks in states like Arizona and Hawaii that don't do DST. This started last Sunday. Worked fine before then. If I let the phone auto-update, it says "GMT -6:00" and is one hour head of the correct time. I went to a Cingular store in Mesa, and the demo unit they had in the store had the same problem. There is no fix, and calls to Cingular and Nokia resulted in finger-pointing. All the other phones (Nokia, LG, Sony Ericsson, Motorola) in the store handled auto-update just fine, but the E62 is broken.

The firmware on the affected phones is version is 2.0618.06.17. To find out if you have this version, press "*#0000#" on your E62. Sadly, this is the most current version of the firmware as of Thursday, March 15th, 2007. There is no newer version available.

If you live in an area that *does* do DST, then you won't see this bug.

For those who get a "SIS not supported", have you by any chance changed the model ID?

Here's an interesting factoid: the N91 update is 15K. The E61 update is 516K. Hmm...

Still, stuff the N91 software on the E61. It works...

The Cingular site states that there is no need for a patch for the E62 and it will automatically adjust for the new DST by itself.

The Nokia E62 is not affected by the Daylight Savings time stuff, there is no action required. Here is the link to the information (along with hyperlinks for other phones):
