Hi Mekan,

I have a similar problem to yours. I have configured BB Connect on e61i, I can send emails, do lookup (Corporate BES). But my incoming email is not working. I dont get the option for retrieving email.

I have F-Secure Mobile Security Suite installed. I suspected the firewall in F-Secure to be the cause. So I enabled "Allow All" rule. Still no luck. I even played with the filters.

Can someone offer Help! I am reachable on aads_aadesh@yahoo.com

Please Help

Hi everyone,
I recently connected the Blackberry service,I didnt want the "Blackberry Email Account" which incidentally had swapped out my original email display with its own(Blackberry)email display,so i deleted it from my device,However now i cant seem to get back my original email display on the screen. My original account still shows me to be the "Default Account" but i cant seem to get it displayed to see my emails.
Any suggestions ?

Hi Sam,

Please see my earlier post regarding the account provisioning issue. You need to make some small permission changes on your new PC to allow access to the Blackberry system account. Its all detailed in the BES Setup file I mentioned above.

Hope that helps

Hi, Can I get some help with a the BB Connect integration on the E61. I get this error when I launch the BB Connect desktop: The account is not provisioned properly on the server. I use MS Outlook and it is my default email on my PC. I just changed PC's so this is a recent problem and I had no issues for the last 9 months. Thanks for the help. Sam

Hi. We ahve Blackberry devices and e61'srunning on our corporate infrastructure. I find different peoplelike different features. personally I find the e61 great but haveone niggly problem with it, which is, I can't open attachments other than word, excel and pdf than come in mails. This is annoying as I receive jpegs and tif(f)s routinely. Is then anyway of opening more file type attachments?? Thanks. Anthony

Hi all,

Greetings from Dublin, Ireland. I was having same issue as sapsum and many others with "account not provisioned correctly on server" (BES for Exchange and Nokia E61). First of all you may have to call your provider several times to make absolutely sure they

(a) Provision your sim for Blackberry services (I was told twice it was done but somehow it didn't stick!)

(b) Add the correct Blackberry APN to your SIM profile

Without this done you'll get nowhere, as I painfully discovered. You should see a small blackberry icon in top left after you send your "Register Now" request from E61. Server should ping you back straight away with success message. If not call operator again!!

Now, back to server issues. I got access to BES server and simply opened the BES Install PDF that comes installed with BES software (you can access it thru Start, Programmes menu or perhaps BB website). Anyway, in the first 20 pages there are some steps you manually have to carry out such as (these are from memory so not 100% accurate, just outline)

(a) Create a BESAdmin (they refer to it as the service account) user and Exchange mailbox on domain
(b) Give the BESAdmin user Send As rights for your account (all detailed in the PDF)
(c) You then need to give the BESAdmin log on locally rights on your PC

There are a few other steps to carry out but none too difficult if you follow manual. After that I connected E61 by USB cable to my desktop PC and restarted BB connect for Nokia s/w and bingo I was in!

With the new 4.1 BES version you can turn on and off calendar synch (saw someone ask this earlier)

Also, don't fret if you can't see Blackberry icon on your E61. Once you have it connected to PC while BB Connect running and enter your PIN you will see the Blackberry mailbox icon appear and mails and calendar items flowing in. Its working beautifully for me now - very happy. I was almsot going to pay €100 extra for a BB 8070v now I'm glad as E61 is very impressive.

Finally, if you want best readability from your screen strongly suggest you download the beautiful "Turquoise" E61 Theme by PTWS (I think) - available from Themes blog. It makes the mails and meetings very clear, even from a distance, and the highlighting very visible. Well done to author.

Hope that helps

I have an E61 running BBconnect just fine but I can’t seem to figure out how to get sound notification with new mail. The little led flashes, but I never get a sound. I have checked the phone profile, and changed the sound and still nothing. Is it a profile matter or the combination BBconnest - Nokia?

Does anybody have an idea why the complete overwrite of the E61 address book via the PC Suite does only download the SMTP addresses and not the addresses from the Exchange server address book, which are copied as local contacts?
I have contacts added from the Outlook address book to my local contacts and added mobile phone numbers and personal email addresses.
The contact details are sent to the E61 including the mobile phone and the personal mail address. But the business address is not uploaded any more.
They were there before but I lost them when overwriting the address book.
