Nokia E61i Screenshot Bonanza!
I received a number of screenshots of the upcoming Nokia E61i, which provides a good sneak peak of what is to come.

I should note that these are just some screenshots and my own extrapolations based on the below images. For a great preview of the Nokia E61i I recommend you read AAS' excellent write up - preview of the Nokia E61i
The Nokia E61i includes a number of my favourite features from the Nokia E50. One of them being the great little application - Message Reader.
There is also a great In device Search application bundled with the E61i
Just like the Nokia E65, E90 and the Nokia E62 - the Nokia E61i has A user defined key to access a function or feature of my your choosing.
But my absolute favourite "carry over feature" from the Nokia E50 to the Nokia E61i is "Notification". A blinking light that can be set to according to user preference.
Another enhancement is a greatly improved way of quickly adding, editing and using WLAN networks. I have used it on the Nokia E65 and it is a great leap forward compared to adding and using temporary WLAN networks on the previous Eseries devices.
The most noticeable difference between the Nokia E61 and the Nokia E61i is of course the camera.
A 2 megapixel camera with a maximum image resolution of 1600×1200. Judging by this sample image here the camera is quite impressive. Probably on par with what the average Eseries user is looking for.
One more plug - AAS has a great preview of the Nokia E61i.
Thanks for the screenshots John S

Man, I don’t know whether to get the E61i or wait for its successor, which will hopefully have a GPS chip, along with a camera are the two things I miss most on my E61. Seeing as I’m in Australia we will probably be last to get the E61i anyway (I asked in a Nokia shop when it was coming out and they didn’t have a clue), I’m hoping that by the time it does come out the next one will be in the pipeline and I will know whether it has GPS.

Hi Kelvin,
I don’t understand Coolman’s question but that program you’ve mentioned sounded intreresting. I would like to try it also.
I think the WiFi interface is one of the worst on my E61.
May be you can post the file some where so we can download it ourselves. Instead of asking you to send it.

The LED on the Nokia E61i won’t be useless!…
Ed from E-Series just got his hands on quite a number of screen shots from the E61i. I suggest you check all of them out. This one in particular caught my eye: I’ve had many mobile phones in my life…

“The LED on the Nokia E61i won’t be useless!…”
The application “Remind Me” for the E61 allows you configure alarms (including the white LED) for various events, including:
Voicemail
Missed Call
New SMS
New Email

I have loads of third party apps and games loaded on my E61. Will all of it run on the E61i? On this depends my decision to upgrade? For the E61i will run on Symbian 9.1b which is a slightly modified version of 9.1. Can anyone confirm this either way?

Is there any integrated audio jack on the E61i ? If yes, 2.5 or 3.5 mm ?

Dude E61i is just like the E61….the only major hardware change is the addition of a camera…rest all is the same except for some changes in keyboard and support for USB2.0…….but via the same old POP PORT!!!!
