I am connecting my E61i via USB cable.

Running 10.5.2 and all the other latest Apple stuff. G5 dual 2 GHz processor tower.
iSync preferences are merge the Mac and the phone. Calendar only. 1 week look back, 1 month look ahead.

Installed the Nokia plug-in... all good. iSync allowed me to add the Nokia device and then when I clicked Sync I got an alert from the phone that it was connecting and then a progress bar on the Mac that indicated that data was being transferred, confirmed by the Nokia (60 of 69) incremented read out and then BAM I get a System error message on the Nokia.
The log file is unhelpful.

Anybody have a similar issue?
Thanks!!!

I am having the same problem, and it's reallllly frustrating. Did anyone manage to find a solution? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I'm using PowerBook G4 running Mac OS X Version 10.4.11, and I'm trying to use iSync to synchronize my Contacts with the Nokia E90. The error I'm getting is:

'[hakintosh] An unexpected error occured.
Device "hakintosh" synchronization failed'

After the first failed attempt, this is what I've retried several times:

1) Unpair the Mac from the E90
2) Remove the E90 from iSync
3) Restart both devices
4) Add the Mac as a Bluetooth paired device on E90
5) Set the E90 to auto-authorize all requests from the Mac
5) Download E90 patch from [http://europe.nokia.com/A4299040] onto Mac, and run it.
6) Go into iSync & add the E90 device
7) Restart both devices again
8) Ensure that Bluetooth is on for both devices
9) Synchronize using iSync

This is very disappointing...

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THX!!

I was just given a Nokia e61 (left my phone on pub trans) and can't get my Powerbook 10.4.11 running iSync 2.4 to sync up at all. I've successfully paired my computer with the phone but nothing syncs -- message below:

Connection to the phone failed.
Please make sure that your phone is turned on. If this error occurs again, please restart your phone.
Device "Leon's ear" synchronization failed

I restarted the phone, i've restarted iSync, I've done it many times and nothing.

any ideas?

I think I mean the apple mail software that comes on my G4. Sorry to abuse the nomenclature.

I'm looking to get it to save messages I sent on the e61 and then upload them to my sent folder on the mac, and mark as unread the ones I've dealt with back and forth, etc. Via isync.

Is that possible with the native software on the e61? I also was hoping it would have an update or that there would be an alternative mail program that would be more full-featured, for instance I would like it to auto-fill email addresses it's seen before or that it can identify from my address book.

thanks!

Hi NickD
The native email program on the Nokia e61 works with Mac Mail.
incoming mail server: mail.mac.com
outgoing mail server: smtp.mac.com
Cheers

Have just switched from windows to mac. Had been using pc suite to sync with e61i but now I'm stumped. Downloaded plugin from Nokia site - seems ok. Paired phone and mac - seems ok. Start up isync and it always says it can't find a device. I'm obviously missing something here - anyone help???

Here's how it worked for me:
(1) back up your calendars (Menu: File-> Back up database)
(2) Delete all calendars
(3) restore calendars from backup (Menu: File -> Revert to Database backup)
(4) sync

"OK… now I’ve managed to add the device to iSync, using the plug-in I downloaded directly from Nokia rather than the one I had got from some other site.

Unfortunately, I get an error when I sync and no data transfers:

Sunday, 26 August 2007 6:53 PM
[E Series] An unexpected error occured.
Device “E Series” synchronization failed

Any idea how to fix this?"

I get the same error. My contacts synced fine, but my iCal did not sync.

Anyone care to shed some light on this matter? Please?
