Hi Nair,

I have spent the day playing with Super and Real Player on my e62. I think the problem you have with the pic staying still and audio continuing is the frame rate is too high. I was experimenting with a sample video clip and found that it only worked at 5.994 or 6.25 fps. After I converted clips to those settings the freeze up stopped.

After countless hours trying fruitlessly to come up with a way to put video on my E61 using my mac at home, I'm amazed at how simple it was in the end.
All I did was use the videos i had converted using Handbrake (I used the same conversions I do for transferring movies to my Ipod) instead of dragging the finished product over to my Ipod library, I dragged it over to the video folder of my E61's memory card, using the cable supplied. I did this for Ever After (the movie) and the process took about nine minutes to copy over to that folder. Then, after disconnecting the phone, I simply went into the folder on my phone, double clicked on the movie icon and it started playing (perfectly I might add) on Real Player. And every mac user knows how easy it is to convert a DVD using that Handbrake! And since I figured this out at 2am I don't believe that brilliant thoughts don't occur with lack of sleep! Hope this helps somebody! This is the link to download Handbrake: http://handbrake.m0k.org/

Hey :-)

Thx for a great blog :-)

Just wanted to tell you guys that Slysoft's CloneDVD Mobile makes PERFECT movies from DVDs.
I've had my clone-package for several years now - and it is still in my opinion the best movieconverter.

Just had to say that ;-)

Best Regards to all you super-folks in here :-)

There are official Nokia specs, they say frame rate should be 15fps, i see no reason for setting it to lower value. I convert movies with ffmpeg to mp4 container and xvid codec, 300-400kbps video bitrate seems enough for 320x240 screen

I agree with dansus, I use Super encoder and Smartmovies and I watch movies at 568Kbps bitrates and 25fps with no frame drops, so I have to disagree with the author of the above article. The E61 is a sweet video player. Just ask all my envious friends:)

Oh.. i may just add a little bit more about Videora. I was using Super before but I could not encode 16:9 videos and preserve the aspect ratio on the encoded file. Hence, my search for a better free video converter, and Videora was it. I preserves the AR and watch widescreen videos smoothly.

I use Videora for Ipod Converter to convert videos for my e61. Its free, its fast, very simple, and plays smoothly with Real Player. The default codec h.264 cannot be played on the E61, so I use the MPEG4 codec. Suprisingly, the e61 can handle the 768kbps bitrate without frame drops on Real Player (I tested my converstion with the Spiderman 3 Crane Scene).
