wasn’t expecting u to amend though as its posted like that everywhere on the internet. Guess dopod have quietly beaten them to it. anyway BBC 4 is real cool as I now get unlimited gprs on blackberry browser as my service provider charges seperately for IE thru the normal GPRS. however, I have seen BBC implemented differently amongst different OS so will see how nokia does it.

I was wondering if E61/E61i will have BBC upgrade from 2.1 to 4.0
With 4.0 you can use BB apn, and these is a huge difference (flate rate in my case and much cheaper roaming)
Any info about that?

Well based on past E-Series implementation of BB connect, once one get upgraded, the others will follow suit. Cant wait to try the unlimited surfing if the device is going (for me at least). and not forgetting to mention the screen estate of the E90. WOW

Hello, thanks for timely and most interesting updates on Nokia devices. Currently I am using e61 with blackberry connect client along with my corporate SIM card. Needless to say, E61 is a more interesting and more functional device than the blackberry 8700. However, one of the things missing in bb connect client implementation for e61 is inability to synchronize Contacts wirelessly. Will bb connect 4.0 solve the problem?
May 6th, 2007 at 10:15 pm
Well for the BBC implemented for windows, it allows you to sync contacts, task, calender and of course email. it also allows to do some security stuff that end user do not like but BES admin love such a password implementation. Time will only tell how it is implemented on the E90 unless some kind sole is using it and wish to share

Blackberry Connect 4.0 is available for the E61i to download. Someone could you test and report? I hope they make it available for the E70 as well.

BC 4 installed, I have and E61 running v3 of the client software connected to BES 4.1, appears the main updates are better attachment handling plus pin to pin messaging on the hand held side, not sure what the server side improvements are. Im hoping a new client will be released soon to allow wireless Contact, notes and tasks on my E61 the same as is now capable on a BB.

Software installed ok, needed to uninstall old version and install from scratch. Main changes in version Nokia Blackberry Connect 4.0 vers. 7.17.2_2 are wireless contacts sync and the ability for wireless BES activation, other changes are Folder redirection, Out of Office, Auto signature, the option to save copies of sent emails to the server and add and changes email filters in the BB software all these can be done from the E61 now, Im a bit disappointed that notes and tasks are still not sync wireless. Overal a good update with some helpfull changes.
Nokia has a Download for T-Mobile devices on the above link so it shouldnt be to long before other carriers have the software.

Hi,
I just got a new Nokia E90. I have the Blackberry Pearl from T-Mobile USA, with the Blackberry Unlimited Plan. I don’t use the Enterprise option.
I downloaded and installed Blackberry Connect 4.0 from Nokia, on the E90. Then I called T-Mobile and had them send the service books to the device, by giving them my PIN and IMEI.
So now, email works just fine. Email receipt is nearly instantaneous, as is send.
However, the web surfing does not work at all. If I open the web browser, and enter a Url, it gives me a “Cannot Connect” error.
Has anyone experienced this problem ? Should I do something different ?
Thanks very much.

Dear all,
i know very little about the blackberry service. So i may sound foolish. I use an e50 and it is my all time buddy for official and non official use. By the way, the main point is my cell provider grameenphone is going to launch the bb service soon. And my little knowledge tells me that i should be able to use their service with the bb connect software if they allow me. Am i wrong? If i am wrong, pls explain why or how i can get access to it.

India users of BBC client on E series, have you been succesful in browsing or do we only get Push mail. I checked with Airtel and they said that I would only be able to use Push mail and to browse , I need a BB device.
Does BBC4.0 come with an inbuilt browser.
I am deciding between the E51 and a BB device.
January 5th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
My earlier post got lost.
Can someone from India ( on Airtel network) with BB connect installed on any e-series tell me whether they can browse the internet with the BIS plan.
What Access Point do you use?

hi, i still can’t sync task and note with bbc on e90. Any update to that?
February 27th, 2008 at 4:05 am
I am running BlackBerry Connect 4.0 on the Nokia E90. As far as I can tell BBC 4.0 does not sync Tasks or Notes OTA. I sync Notes via PC Suite, but can’t see a way of syncing tasks without syncing the calendar. I need to keep the calendar on BBC 4.0 as I need to see updates to my calendar in real time.
I have looked at some 3rd party apps to manage tasks, but again they won’t sync back into Outlook.
I have tried MfE several times on different devices and find have always had problems with it. Including version 2.3.

i have bb connect on my e90 and have 2 problems- 1. i cannot email photos off the device- has bbc disabled this function? 2. bbc deletes emails off the server when deleted off the phone, but if i delete email off my outlook (using webmail via imap, not an exchange server), and that email has already been pushed down to the phone, then i have to delete a second time off the phone (leads to some confusion). is this a typical bb issue or only with bbc on e90?
thanks for any suggestions/advise.

Im having an issue where my e90 will fail the activation. Ive upgraded to the latest firmware (210.34.75) and am using “Nokia S60 BlackBerry Connect 4.0 vers. 8.14.1(.SISX, 2,89 MB)” from the Nokia website. The conformation email gets sent to the hand held as well.
I have deleted and re added my user from the BES several times but I always get the “your account is not authorized for Enterprise Activation. Contact your IT Administrator.” Message. The password is accepted but It will always fail. any help will be appreciated. I will post more as I try other scenarios. Thanks.

I was able to get my Nokia E90 working with T-Mobile. I originallly I had a BlackBerry Pearl with “Unlimited BlackBerry w/ Enterprise Activation” plan. I put my SIM into the E90, installed BBConnect, but it stopped working after a couple of hours. I called T-Mobile and a rep told me that I needed to change to the T-Mobile “All Internet” plan because I wanted BlackBerry service on a non-BB device.
I did that and BBConnect was never able to connect. I upgraded the E90 to the latest firmeware (210.34.75 12-04-2008 RA-6 - as of 6/4/08) and to the latest version of BBConnect. I also installed BBConnect Desktop.
I called T-Mobile and had them change my plan back to BlackBerry Unlimited with Enterprise Activation. I was able to log into the BES and get my e-mails, contacts, meeting requests, etc.
Just wanted to post because I had a hell of a time finding all of the right information in one place. Enjoy guys! The Nokia E90 rocks!
