Nokia Eseries Device Range
Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Nokia Eseries Devices…
I was trawling Nokia's web pages and came across a good PDF with lot's of useful information about Eseries devices. The best part of the PDF is a Nokia Eseries device comparison.
Technical spec is listed as well other information such as supported email solutions etc. Great stuff.

Ed, my friend… I’m telling you …. the E61i is GOLD, man, GOLD!!
I find myself gazing into the screen for no apparent reason (more than I ever did with the E61) and pressing the buttons on the keyboard make me horny!
hehe

Almost sure this has been discussed here before, but the PDF chart seems to indicate the E90 has only triband GSM, i.e. no 850 MHz band. That would be very strange.

Good find…but what I find interesting is that the E90 is not a quad band phone. I was under the understanind that is would be. It only mentions GSM 900/1800/1900…no 850.

Surely no 850 is a typo or a mistake. All official documents point out to E90 being quad band which includes 850.

I find its interesting that the e61i has up to 60 MB free, while the e61 has 64MB. Even more so, it says the e62 has 76 MB. Strange, from what I gathered the e62 was supposedly slower and not as stable as the e61

@ryan: youre confusing user memory with RAM. the user memory mentioned in the brochure is just the internal disk storage space.
i believe the E61i has the most RAM of the three phones.

You are wrong dear geekonimus. It is the E61 which has more memory. Nokia has added a camera to the E61i without without adding to the shared memory of 64 MB.
The E61 may turn out to be actually better than its successor in more ways than one. Newer models are not necessarily better.

@Sudhir: Wrong how? The E61 and E62 both have more internal memory than the E61i, I did not deny that.
I’m talking about RAM, which I believe all 3 phones have an equal amount of, but the E61i seems to have more free RAM after bootup, since it performs faster snappier than the E61 and E62.
There’s operating RAM, internal user memory (storage) and external memory (storage on microSD card).

..and the RAM is not ’shared’ with the internal user memory.

@geekonimus
You are right, I was mistaken. However regardless I still would have expected the internal memory to be larger on the e61i, being how there is a still/vid. camera now.
I wish there was more RAM. Or some way to purge the RAM or prioritize applications.
On a different note, does Active Standby use up alot of RAM? Because I have nothing open and sometimes I can’t get single java apps to run due to memory. Elusive hidden processes i tellya.

You should look for games for Symbian S60 3.0 aka S60 V3. There are also many Java games that works well.
