Corporate Phonebook - 3rd Party Address Book Enhancement
Some people might know of SYSOPENDIGIA as the company behind the MegaPhone - the 170cm tall jumbo phone running S60 which actually works.
The impressive creation is used for display/training purposes at various trades hows and events.
However, SYSOPENDIGIA does so much more.
They are a virtual powerhouse when it comes to Symbian expertise and have a wide array of services and products for operators, handset manufacturers and also end users.
One such product for end users is Corporate Phonebook.
Corporate Phonebook is more of a supplement than an replacement to the built in address book application.
Corporate Phonebook allows you to import your address book information from a backend system such as Outlook, Exchange, LDAP, CRM, and other Databases.
It's an easy process to export address book information from, for an example, Exchange to the Corporate Phonebook application, which create a new database with your contacts.
I should preface this by saying that I am not sure exactly how the application works, documentation of the application is less than complete.

I can see one obvious usage scenario:
Say that you want to import your company's whole address book but don't want to store/mix them with your personal address book information.
SYSOPENDIGIA's Corporate Phonebook application is the answer!
You can keep your whole corporate address book locally on the device but not clutter your own address book with information you might not need when you go home after work.
The idea of having two separate address books is actually pretty brilliant - one for work - one for my personal life.
The application lets you copy contact information from the Corporate Phonebook application to the native contact application so if you have address book information in the Corporate Phonebook application you can move it over to the native "Contacts" but there is no way to do the opposite.
The application also allows you to search your contacts by using multiple criteria; Name, Title, Organization, Location and Phone Number.
Another great feature is that the application enables "caller ID on steroids". Rather than the normal caller ID with little information, this application's Advanced caller ID will display; Name, Title, Company, Location etc.

If you have a large set of "business" related contacts that you want to have access to on your device without mixing them with your personal address book then this product is for you! However, at 95 Euro per license it ain't cheap.
There is a demo available for download.
Another Contact Application is Alon Contact Guide For S60 3rd Edition which I wrote about here.

Yup, 170 cm, it’s for demo purposes at various events. Nothing you would put in your pocket
