Nokia E61i Crystal Case
There is always a time gap between when new devices are announced and 3rd party accessories become available. As is evident with the Nokia E61i as new cases are available.
The first Crystal cases for Nokia E61i have been spotted. xtemujin picked one up from a vendor in Singapore for $8.
The Crystal case is sturdy, transparent and with detail cut-outs for buttons, connectors and the camera.
I did a quick search on eBay for Crystal Cases for the Nokia E61i but couldn't find a vendor (yet). However DMA in the UK have Crystal cases for Nokia E61i available.
A big thank you to xtemujin for sharing~!

How does he get the time to show up that large?
p.s. I wish there was an application that would leave the backlight on all the time while the phone was in standby. Like as soon as you connect it to a charger it should leave the backlight on all the time. My phone sits on a dock across from my bed and it would be nice to use it as an alarm clock. I use Handy Date or whatever for alarms but it would be great to be able to look across the room and read the time off of the phone.

The crystal case is a useful device, but the problem is it cracks quite easily. For me, some crystal cases have lasted as less as two days. :-((((
Can someone point to a good place in Chennai, India, where I can get rugged crystal cases?
Thanks and regards,

Crystal cases in Manila sprout like mushrooms as soon as new phones are released to the market. Converting it to US$, it would only probably cost $3.

to Bart:
regarding the backlight, i read about Tektronic Lights On but haven’t tried it out myself. You may want to give it a try.

i think this crystal case its not good enough because if the phone getting hot…. theres not enough air sirculation in that phone… so its little bit risky

@ Alanine:
How did you get the E61i to fit the E61 crystal case? I tried mine and it was a tight fit, and I didnt want to fight it.

alanine:
Tektronic Lights On does exactly what I want it to do. Turns the backlight on and keeps it on as soon as you put the phone on the charger. Theres only one problem. It won’t allow the phone to go into standby. So I can’t see my clock from that distance anyways

Re Comment from MS Prasad: I agree that the crystal cases always get cracked very soon. It is more of a mental feeling that we are doing something to protect the phone! For crystal cases, try http://www.ebay.in, the prices are cheap. Otherwise try Vasavi in Chennai.Cheers!

Anyone know if silicone cases are emerging soon for the E61i? In Sweden there are lots of retailers for the E61 but none for E61i, will happily accept tips for retailers in the EU.
Cheers!

Sivanand & xenonix,
I bought the E61i crystal case, S$8, here in Singapore at Boon Lay Interchange.
The handphone accessories shop is just beside the Buzz newspaper stand, it’s on your right coming out from the MRT entrance to the interchange.
HTH.

Hi, anyone know where to download the new version GolfProContest.zip Version ? The former is 1.0.0 (widely used) and the new one is 1.0.2 or 1.0.1 if i am not wrong. It was a little bit different from the E61’s. I lost it when i changed my MicroSD. Now my E61i simply reject the older version. Anyone could help?

xtemujin,
DMA doesn’t seem to have the case in stock. Any chance there is a website for someone in Singapore that has it for sale?
Also, any comments or thoughts about the device getting hot while in the case?
June 26th, 2007 at 11:47 am
Yes, DMA does not have them in stock. I need a case damn it! I am with Jon above; is there a website in Singapore that has it and will ship?
June 29th, 2007 at 11:46 am
Bart, the app you need is spot on. I havent tested it on E61i yet since I dont need one but it worked fine with N80.

Where can i find Nokia E61i Leather case in Mumbai India

Hi guys! Does anyone of you E61i owners happen to live in the APAC region? I’m looking for the generic E61i-1 RM-227 product code for the Philippines or APAC. Should you own an ‘unbranded’ (read: unlocked, unsubscribed, non-Plan), please share by looking on your phone’s battery compartment on the sticker, (I believe they’re the 7-digit code right below the IMEI code), and please post it here.
Muchas Gracias!

My e61i arrived yesterday. I didn’t learn until late last night that it doesn’t have alarms! Where can I get this Symian (sp) software to install an alarm program on the phone? This is a must as this is my alarm clock.
Thanks

I think it’s best that you just get a handphone pouch to minimize any scratches or so. Look for XL pouch size. I’m currently using it after a hard time looking for the crystal and silicone casing, furthermore, the pouch works just fine.
