I've had an e62 for a couple weeks now and I am getting used to it. I've had numerous Windows Smartphones in the past and wanted to try a new OS. The one thing that's really bothering me is that if I set Mail for Exchange to Always Sync I don't get any phone calls! The connection is via Media.NET (it's Cingular/ATT service.) If I'm using the web browser over the Media.NET connection and a call comes in the data connection is interrupted and the call comes through. If Mail for Exchange is connected and synchronizing data, calls go straight to voice-mail. The phone came with version 1.4 of Mail for exchange and I upgrade to 1.5 in hopes of fixing the issue. Today I upgrade to 1.6...but it still doesn't work right. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Wonderful! I could never get the previous version of Mail for Exchange to work with our Exchange server. There were problems with certificates and login credentials that we could never pin down, even though we tried hard.

So I thought "why not give it another try with this new version 1.6.1" and lo and behold, syncing now works! My guess is that compatibility and robustness with the wide variety of Exchange setups has been improved.

to Alexa-Portugal:
Mail4exchange is client for Microsoft EXCHANGE Server, it's not another general purpose e-mail client. It's not possible to use it with POP3 or IMAP4 accounts, Yahoo mail probably offers one of this.

Settings for mail2web are this:
User name: $yourid$@mail2web.com
Domain: ad2

When I select Americas and E62 with Cingular, it comes up with version 1.50. When I select Europe and E61 it comes up with version 1.60.

Can I run 1.6 in the US? Anyone have experience doing this?

Does anyone knows the username, the exchange server and the domain for yahoo mail?

Where can i find mail 4 exchange tutorial? The mail4exchange in my nokia E61i wont go and fetch my yahoo mails - not without using the service "mail2web" !

Ive managed to make the exchange app work but only if it is "mail2web" who receives mails at my new account (which will be rarely, because its not my daily default mailbox).

Why doesn't M4E enhance itself to support that, all microsoft devices support it?

My company also provides IMAP/SMTP email access, so I use IMAP for emails and M4E for Contacts/Calendar!

Keatisk:
I have currently only one mail account (via Roadsync) configured on my device, E-mail key is set to "default". Option "Roadsync" is also available. When I press it, it brings Roadsync inbox listing. No clue how it works with multiple different acounts together. What version of Roadsync do you use? Mine is 3.002 (394).

Martin, I wonder what the difference is in the e-mail key on the e61i? RoadSync support told me the e-mail key feature was not yet supported on the e61, they didn't say anything about the e61i, I just assumed it would not work there. The attachment thing is a real pain for me, I'm not sure yet if not having the sync option from the e-mail list is a big deal or not, it does slow me down a bit but it is not a app killer. I do notice the big difference is battery use however and that alone may cause me to stick with M4E.

To Amar - M4E 1.6 does not let you use your subfolders - RoadSync works well for that purpose.

Hi, can anyone tell me if this version of mail for exchange can sync subfolders under inbox? I have subfolders under inbox (that receive filtered mails) in my OST and the previous version of MFE only synced the inbox. Thanks.

Looks like I have different experience. Roadsync works fine with e-mail key on my E61i, the attachment can be viewed before "saved". Actually my phone stands 3 sure days with push connectivity (and not only) activated 12 hours a day, so I cannot confirm the power consumption nor the importance of having 'sync' item in e-mail list menu.

Yesterday I saw that a new version of M4E was available and was very hopeful that this would be the version that would finally let us accept or decline appointments. The new version does fix a few small issues but the BIG one remains, you still cannot accept or decline appointments. So...I installed RoadSync. The install went fine, no real issues, it was up and running in short order. RoadSync however is not quite as good as I had hoped. I have several issues with it, more issues with RoadSync then I have with M4E. First, my e-mail key will no longer work, it will work with M4E or any pop3 account, just not RoadSync. Also, it appears that I now have to save an attachment before I can view it, I'm using Quick Office and with M4E once the attachment was downloaded I could view it and then decide to save it or not. One other issue, with M4E I could sync e-mail from the e-mail list by going to options and selecting sync e-mail. That option does not seem to be available in RoadSync. You actually have to go through the menu and open the RoadSync app and then select sync if you want to get e-mail before the next scheduled sync. RoadSync does provide folders and being able to accept meetings is great but RoadSync overall does not seem to be the way to go. One other big problem with RoadSync, I swear I can watch my battery indicator going down. Set to check e-mail every 15 minutes (the same as M4E) I don't think I could get a day out of the battery using RoadSync. It would be great if Nokia would just listen to their loyal customers and make M4E handle meetings.

Roaming setting would be nice as well. And it should be able to distinguish between national roaming (german o2-costumers can use the t-mobile-network for free in areas whithout o2-coverage) and international roaming (extra costs for data transfer).

Also access point groups and being able to use meeting requests in the nokia calendar app would be great.
