Nokia E90 Retail Photos

OK, I don't plan to milk the fact that the Nokia E90 now is starting to show up in the retail channel forever but still… Here are some snaps from a store in Indonesia selling the Nokia E90

The following photos are from the Ambassador Mall / ITC Kuningan in Jakarta. The price for the devices is a whopping 15 million to 18 (yes , eighteeen) million rupiah! (approximately US $1,650 - US $1,980)

A big thank you to our man in Jakarta - Iwan~!

OMG!!! 1900$!anyone knows what wil be the price for the american release?! well that crashes my aquisition plan for the e90. Guess i will be keeping my e61i for a fairly long time…

    regards everyone.

1900$ ? wow thats expensive, i have seen some offers here in germany for about 800€! :)

  3. brklynsurfer Says:

I can’t believe it would be that expensive here in the U.S. Maybe $900. The higher price is justified by the fact that with this phone you really don’t need to carry around a laptop.

  4. fred Says:

hooaw, that s few months of salary in indonesia.

  5. ahsif Says:

WOW.. dat is alot.. i was expecting around 1100 USD not more than dat……. i guess i’ll have to wait for a pretty long time to get dat E90, i reallllllllllly want one..but da price…. its just Too much ! 1800 USD :(!!!!!

  6. raphazard Says:

few months?for the average people, few years’ worth is still now where close 15 mil rupiah…

  7. kdmenon Says:

It wont be that much when it get here in the states. In Jakarta alot of these stores, especially Ambassador Mall are supply and demand based. Meaning when a product is new and hot they jack up the prices to ridiculous amounts… As time passes the prices drop significantly. As these retailers dont report back to Nokia themselves, they can put any sticker price they think people will pay for it… :p

    WOW… LOL… I love how you put

“OK, I don’t plan to milk the fact that the Nokia E90 now is starting to show up in the retail channel forever BUT….”

hahaha … I think this blog really captures the feelings of people around the world (AND in the US) about how excited people are about this mobile terminal.

    Bravo!

In Finland, E90 is around 790-880 eur. Not bad? Just left E61i back for E90. Somehow I miss issues from E61i, maybe it just taking some time to get used to E90?

  10. D-Ma Says:

The “suggested retail price” in Finland was around 1000eur, I can’t remember the exact price, but the retail is running around 790-880eur if I look from web sites around. One might think how the hell someone is asking almost 100eur more than another guy, but at the launch all will be sold, even those expensive ones. I was smart/fortunate enough to get mine for just under the min.

I asuume it’s the same out there in Indonesia. I also assume that in US the pricing will be similar, it’s te demand that sets the prices when there are not devices available for all that want one.

    Been happy with mine. :)

  11. macalex Says:

E90 really OVER priced, the price for this kind device should be 650-700USD. Some people say that Apple iPhone is over priced but looks like Nokia E90 is the most over priced device ever.

  12. macalex Says:

Whats really funny, after 6-8 months of sales, the price will cut down to 500-600 bucks and firmware will be fixed, so I’ll wait for another 6 months. :)

  13. raphazard Says:

i don’t think there is such thing as “over-priced”…everything is priced as such for a reason..
for the iPhone,i think you’re are mainly paying for the “cool” factor…for the e90,its definitely about the specs..
the only deciding factor then is, what you are willing to pay for…
    what do you think?

  14. raphazard Says:

except maybe for the indonesia case…(no offence to indonesians…)…but shopkeepers really do jack up their prices to what they think potential customers are willing to pay…

  15. PPaFin Says:

Just boxed E90 away, for E61i. Check my blog for details.

  16. K4zuki Says:

The E90 and N95 are nearly the same, except for the E90 with laptop-like features.

I can’t understand why the price is so high.

In Jakarta, N95 is around, like half the price of the E90..

PPaFIN - Very interesing comments and most likely 100% spot on!

I have an E70, E61, E65 and E61i but frequently go back to use eithre my 9300i or 9500 for business travel. I have the found the 9300i and 9500 to out perform the E series for messaging when using either Microsoft Exchange/RoadSync and/or BlackBerry for serious non-labtop email usage while traveling.

Also, the 9300 and 9500 both support full FAXING and full CITRIX host access. If ony the 9300 and 9500 supported VoIP.

Thanks for your excellent information and post.

2 raphazard: I would never buy a motor bike for $250k and I would never buy a car for $600k and I never would buy a phone for over 1k. What I was trying to say that the cost of this gadget probably $300 and get E90 for almost $2k really crazy. :) It doesn’t mean that i can’t afford this things, this is just not practical to pay over because does things that looks fancy not always practical to use, but sure its really cool to show up with something cool that somebody can’t afford.
iPhone has a reasonable price but Apple really play a stupid action right now with iPhone. They should make is SIM free and sell it allover the world and open OS X for developers. They already made huge mistakes again, like Mac was a closed platform for years. Well, anyway this is another story….

  22. Murphy Says:

    One question guys!

This E90 has SAP for Bluetooth?

    ————————
    SIM Access Profile (SAP, SIM)

This allows devices such as car phones with built in GSM transceivers to connect to a SIM card in a phone with Bluetooth, so the car phone itself doesn’t require a separate SIM card.
    ————————

I own a E61 at this moment and it has SAP.

My car brandnew handsfree its SAP, so since I will upgrade E61 to E90 as soon I have it available in Spain I really hope that the E90 supports this SAP thing for Bluetooth because I dont have in mind to change the expensive car handsfree which is working more than perfect!

    Any one can confirm?

    Regards and thanks in advance

E90 you can find for $896 on Dell web side… It ships 6+ weeks. I think this is just presale for original release by Nokia in the US. But it is good indication of the price that it will be bellow K. I think it will be even cheaper when Nokia will announce the sales in the US.
