Several readers have written to tell me that Nokia Media Transfer, which we wrote about here, now supports Nokia E65, Nokia E61i and Nokia E90.
I haven't tried this myself yet but I take your word for it
I'm really glad that Nokia has added support for Eseries to this great Mac media transfer utility!
ass******* e61 not working… crappy i…
They left the E61, come on nokia, it’s the same phone..
David,
calm down, calm down! It’s possible that support for the “earlier” Eseries devices are coming later. They are probably just introducing support for a few devices at a time.
Cheers
David you can download profiles for your E61 here: http://www.geocities.com/jking_ok/blog.html
Just tested with my E61i. Working seamlessly. Thank you for the news and thank you Nokia.
I’m currently using a patched profile with my E90 and it works just fine. Maybe I still should try the new version with official support for it…
=)juha
e61 not working
E61 not working
My E50 works perfectly with the profile from the web Simon said.
But, I had to copy the profile to general (the one in your hard disk root) Library/Application Support/Nokia Media Transfer/Profiles and then, you still will see “not supported” message probably, so you have to close application, then go to “youruser/Library/Application Support/Nokia Media Transfer/” (not the same as before, but your user one) and delete all the data there, like the application is recently installed.
Then, you open application again and magically your phone is supported!!
“E61 (not supported)”
My E61i works fine with the media transfer. Will try it with the E90 - hopefully works fine as well. Thanks for the news update and Nokia. Hope to see more and more Nokia-Mac-friendly software
The more I play with the E90, the more I do not like it. Theres no difference between the inner screen and outer screen OS, the larger keyboard and screen inside get tiresome after holding its 210g in your hands.
I don’t think I’m going to buy it. I had pre-purchased the E61i and N95 thinking I’ll have my fun with them and then sell them both off and get the E90… but having used those 2 devices for a couple months now, I’ve begun to appreciate the E61i as the perfect work phone/PDA for me, and the N95 as a great weekend/getaway all-in-one device to have.
Two phone are better than one? Maybe so…. =)
E61 works. Thanks to Pablo Gavilán (see above) for his explanation, worked perfectly.
Picking up my new E61i tomorrow! Can´t wait to try it out with Media Transfer…
I got my E61 working great with the profiles created thanks the other post. Now i need to know how to save text messages on my mac. Is there a way?
thanks!
Nokia Media Transfer unterstützt E-Serie nun offiziell…
e65 does not work (e65 not supported)…..
Pablo’s suggestion worked for my E61. Thanks!
Thanks Simon and Pablo. My e61 works fine.
Is Nokia Media Transfer the precursor of a Mac OS X native port of Nokia PC Suite? The ability to update Nokia phone firmware from a Mac native software solution is long overdue.

would you please recommend us a attractable application-Private call&sms guard, this is the link: http://www.SymbianOn.com/page/pcg3rd.html. it seems have lots of functions.thanks.
When it comes to the E50, the current beta supports only the camera model (R170). To get support for the camless R170 — which I own — you have to modify the profile, which is now hidden right in the app package, accordingly.
works like a charm on e61 using that profile, many thanks!
my e61 works, but I have trouble with my e61 folder in itunes. First, I cannot put individual songs into this folder, only playlists with songs, it would seem, which show up as such below the e61 folder icon, and then I can’t put them back in my general library of playlists on my mac. Then, when i hit connect and transfer files, I get an error message for everything I put in my e61 folder saying that “could not create ******* in C:/music/etc.” on the e61. any one have any problems or success trying to sync their phones with itunes (mac) using the new media transfer? got suggestions?
Seems like the e61i is working good now…. e61 doesn’t work. Guess no camera = no standard out of box support!
The Bluetooth syncing up iTunes tracks + photo transfer to iphoto takes forever on my e61i. I used the USB cable and that went down to 30 seconds (from what was going to be 20 mins of transfers).
So find your USB cable and leave it handy when you want to sync media with this tool.
Anyone managed to get the E65 to work yet?
Is there an equivalent for us windows users ?
I’m mainly interested in the music sync functionnality.
Yes, i know PC Suite offers some kind of sync, but I love the itunes integration
Sorry to be off topic but…
Is there software available for s60 v.3 that allows one to use the handset as an EDGE/3G Wifi gateway? ie. Sharing your 3G connection over wifi to create your own “roaming” hotspot?
I know I can do this with bluetooth pairing, but I’d rather have the convenience of just connecting to my own portable wifi gateway. Also it would be trivial to share it with whomever I wish with a setup like this.

How did you get the usb to connect with the e61i and actually do the transfer. I am not able to do that… this the error that I am getting…
“Capabilities of the device “Nokia E61i” couldn’t be determined.
The device refused the operation and returned an error code (-2).”
Any help guys…

I found the “Private Call&Sms Guard” is a great application that have lots of functions like protect the private informations(sms/call/files…), call rejection, record…this is the link: http://www.SymbianOn.com/page/pcg3rd.html.
you can download it and other pretty application, they look so pretty good.
I havent figured out how to work my nokia media transfer; when I click on the ADD DEVICE it detects my E61 phone but it says NOT SUPPORTED; does anyone nows what can I do?
I had put this in the wrong spot. I just downloaded the media transfer beta 1.1 and it now supports e62. I believe it also now supports e61 and e61i. But It is working great on my E62
New update for NMT, it officially supports E61.
now it support E60 in the new beta. Great to have it to work with my itune library.
Just got the 6133 Mac won’t recognize this model. Hooked up USB. Appears on desktop. Drag an AAC file onto it and it says it can’t be modified. Help
Just bought an E51 phone yesterday. Damn having a hard time to setup push mail and IM. According to the local service provider here in Dubai, I can only use it via WAP. I want to use IM (MSN) and Yahoo Mail (via push mail) on my phone via WLAN. Is there a way how to do it?? Is it possible?? Thanks!
