i am also having problems with yahoo mail on my E61. This is recent and has been going on for the past month or so. I am in the US and have AT&T as my carrier. Current settings are as follows:

Incoming:
pop.mail.yahoo.com
Access Point: Express/MediaNet - neither works at this point
security ports - off
port - default/110 both no longer work

Outgoing:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Access Point: Express/MediaNet - neither works at this point
security ports - off
port - default/25 both no longer work

I get asked for username and password and then i get a general error or timeout message

it doesn't work with me.:| i keep getting booted back to the username/password/connection type screen then eventually i get a connection refused popup. this is on a wifi connection, and using a GPRS connection will bloat my phone bill like nothing.

i want yahoo on my native mail client! darn.

Great thread! :)
Reading this thread, I remembered the old days of ISP blocking SMTP to prevent mail-spoofing.
I've got a Sony Ericsson K850i on the Telstra NextG (3G) network in Australia, which had Telstra BigPond email pre-configured.
I copied the outgoing mail configuration to the Yahoo Mail account, and bingo. it works!

SMTP server: mail.bigpond.com
Port 25:
Authentication:
User: not required?
Pass:

More details at:
http://bigpond.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bigpond.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=5562

I have ATT/Cingular. As of this morning, imap.next.mail.yahoo.com, would not allow me to login and receive my mail. It worked flawlessly for a while, but today it doesn't. I wonder if they changed their authentication. Any thoughts? Workarounds? Other settings?

guys...

here is the solution for all your problem.

TURN OFF "Send copy to self" and "Reply-to"

in Email Settings > User Settings

fields and everything will work, with or without SSL/TLS.

I have ATT/Cingular and a N75 using the following settings works like a champ!

Mail Type: IMAP
Incoming: imap.next.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing: cwmx.com

I hate the ATT/Cingular java mail app, and now I can use the internal mail app only for all my accounts.
