Yahoo! Go 2.0
If your favourite colour is purple and you can't live without Yahoo! - then you have been waiting for this - Yahoo! Go 2.0 on most of Nokia's Eseries devices.

Yahoo! Go 2.0 is now available for download for Nokia E60, E61, E61i, E62, E65 and E70.
Yahoo! Go provides easy access to all your Yahoo! services such as Flickr (oh yeah!). You can upload photos from your device to Flickr or just browse photos. Weather, news, maps and driving directions are also part of the application.
Your Yahoo! email and of course search are also part of Yahoo! Go. You can set up the application to automatically retrieve email in the background or have email pushed to your device as they arrive. This is not as compelling as it sounds.
You have to leave the rather large application running (and hope it doesn't crash). However, when the application is successfully running in the background push email does work fairly well.

You can download the application from your browser on your Eseries deviice by going to us.get.go.yahoo.com or by initiating the download from your PC from this site.
A BIG Thank You to Valery!

Downloaded, installed and in use, but I wonder why it says ‘2.0 beta’ at the top of the window?
July 28th, 2007 at 10:36 am
Could somebody post the SIS somewhere so I can test it on my E90?
July 28th, 2007 at 11:23 am
Why can’t they integrate Yahoo Messenger with it? =(

Even works with external GPS device.
July 28th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
@Fixer: it’s a Java application, just to the URL say you have some 240×320 device (like a N73) and use in your external screen.
It will probably don’t open in your internal screen saying invalid or unsupported resolution

Problem is that my carrier isn’t supported for SMS
Could somebody post the link that they send in SMS for a N73?
July 28th, 2007 at 11:12 pm
Is anyone else finding go 2.0 extremely laggy on the E61i? I get a 1-2 second delay when moving through menus and changing from one sub-app to the other.
July 28th, 2007 at 11:33 pm
Hey,
Im new to flickr and have just signed up using yahoo!go. So i was wondering how can i upload photos using this app. I dint find an option in the flickr carousel. All help is thanked!(in advance)
July 29th, 2007 at 12:57 am
I don’t know exactly what kind of E61 or E61i they tested this app on, but I can’t see people with either of these phones actually using this application on a daily basis. It’s slow and unstable enough to the point of being useless. Sure it’s pretty, but they really need to work on the UI’s responsiveness if they expect any substantial user base to develop.
July 29th, 2007 at 2:07 am
When I tried downloading yahoo go for my mobile, it gave me a message that it requires firmware 2.0618.00.00 or above for my e61i..But when I checked for software updates in nokia site it has got only 1.0633.22.05..How did you guys mange to install

mobile.yahoo.com is far better.. fast and supports messenger

Really great to hear about this. How comes I didn’t receive the sms which Yahoo! promised to do (inform) us when it’s available.
July 30th, 2007 at 1:43 am
This app really sucks. I needed 4-6 trials to download it over my WLAN. After installing it on my E61i, it took more than 5 min. to download the emails. After having this done, I tried to read one, but it failed. The UI is soo slow, that it unuseable. For getting a quick look at new emails arrived, this is useless. Hopefully Yahoo will improve this otherwise I’ll throw it away.
July 30th, 2007 at 7:05 am
Anyone else get “unsupported screen format” when trying to use Yahoo Go with landscape mode on their E70? Talk about showstopper.
July 30th, 2007 at 8:22 am
Yahoo Go 2.0 is an awful application. I don’t use Yahoo Go anymore as this application is slow, and offers no benefits at all. The old Yahoo Go, the .sis file, is a much better application than the new Java app. It is a shame Yahoo let the old application slide. It’s going to be discontinued from 27th August.
July 30th, 2007 at 9:04 am
With my E61, latest firmware, the Yahoo Go only connects via GPRS, WiFi not works. I have no problem using the phone’s web browser to connect via WiFi, so absolutely not my WiFi setting error. Dissapointed no yahoo messenger integrated.
July 30th, 2007 at 12:04 pm
Good news!
This yahoo program also works on the wonderfull Nokia N95!
July 30th, 2007 at 1:12 pm
Good Application!
Two comments
- Wish it had FONT size option. The Fonts art extra-large.
- Option to get rid of unwanted Icons
July 30th, 2007 at 9:05 pm
I love it! My old eyes love the larger font than the mail app that comes with the E62. I haven’t had any problem with email loading quickly and problem free. I also love having my Yahoo calendar at hand.

Via E-series.org, I just updated Yahoo Go to the latest release 2.0. It had GPS capabilities which I can use with the Nokia N95 GPS.

For all having difficulties, you can submit feedback to Yahoo. There’s no promises that they may all fix issues, but they do fix some of them.
Jackiecal, I’m glad to know it works for the E62. As someone above mentioned, I had signed up for notification when it was available for the E62. Never did get notified. I hope the contacts and data synchronization work. That’s the most important feature for me.
July 31st, 2007 at 8:43 am
Waiting for version 2.1 . This Yahoo! Go 2.0 is “non-responsive”. Too slow for my E61 version 3.
July 31st, 2007 at 8:46 am
Update from this E62 user… apparently I can’t do syncs at all. I don’t even have the option settings. The HELP screens say this may not function with certain devices.
That’s the option I really need. I can do everything else on-line. I didn’t really need another space taking app. BTW - I did send feedback to the Yahoo group. It may not do any good, but…

Why only 2 emails per screen!??
I like gmail!!! Smarter, and faster..
July 31st, 2007 at 10:41 pm
E62 NOT IN THE LIST OF COMPATIBLE DEVICES..
August 1st, 2007 at 8:53 am
I Have an E62.. 2.0 works well, I am dissapointed in the satellite images as awsome an cool as they are not CURRENT! I tested in my area,Granted most images showed up.but newer structures that are present DONT show on the MAPS….. Update these to LIVE and it will be a great SERVICE!!!!!!

I have a E61i and have the firmware 2.0618.00.00 problem too and it won’t let me install. I tried using my Opera Mini browser but then it tells me that I need to use the built-in browser. How else did all you E61i owners install this if you had that firmware issue?
August 2nd, 2007 at 6:45 am
nevermind - installation works when I use GPRS and not WIFI to connect
August 2nd, 2007 at 8:01 pm
For any e61i user. try to download yahoo go, using your web browser, type in this : http://us.get.go.yahoo.com. DONT use your wap browser (service). It will fail, coz always asking new firm ware.
August 2nd, 2007 at 8:16 pm
To Des: I am using GPRS but it still says that my firmware needs to be upgraded to 2.061.00.00. Has anyone found any workaround for this?
August 3rd, 2007 at 3:57 am
David, a better application to use for upload to flickr is ShoZu (www.shozu.com). Works great for me to upload photos from my E61i.
August 3rd, 2007 at 3:18 pm
How abt E50 ?
Will this version be compatible with E50
August 6th, 2007 at 4:24 am
well i was asked to upgrade to firmware 2.06.18 also by my provider on my E61i because i couldnt install it from yahoo go website… i gave up trying and i now go online, fill up with nickname and password and only then enter yahoo mail to check my emails. i rarely check mail on my phone but indeed on my macbook so im ok to go online by phone to do so and not use the email direct button of the E61i.
August 7th, 2007 at 2:02 am
Hmm,
Tried it on my E61 - it’s slow as a sick snail. I got noticed by sms “as requested” a week later but, hey they kept the promise
IMHO it is completely unusable.
August 7th, 2007 at 10:05 am
This is super slow and many bugs. One of the most irritating thing was not being able to use the alpabets in the numeric keys (I have a e61). try one search and try entering a search query that has letters on the numeric keys - it JUST wont take letters only numbers of special characters dedicated to those keys… sighhhh!!
August 12th, 2007 at 5:00 am
Y did they take off messenger frm it???
August 24th, 2007 at 12:58 pm
Yeah, no landscape mode support for the E70 is a major showstopper. The other bad news is it seems they screwed up Yahoo! Mobile just as they launched 2.0 of Go.
August 28th, 2007 at 11:49 am
i love yahoo go 2 2 much Thanks
August 30th, 2007 at 3:29 am
Hi!
I love the Yahoo Go app i’ve just installed (without any problem) on y new e65. I can’t find a way to download to my phone the flickr pics though. Anyone have an idea ?
Thx

The memory card / storage card / storage drive isnt read for pics. What a waste
September 23rd, 2007 at 8:51 pm
hi all
can any1 help me with E90?
i can’t open any free web-based email websites such as yahoo, gmail, hotmail etc. Whenever open the yahoo email website, my e90 shows “HTTP license isn’t installed”.
What does it mean? and is there any way i can fix it or install something?
thanks heaps!
October 10th, 2007 at 10:06 pm
I got Shozu installed and it’s awesome to sync up my address book and also photos etc. Nice thing is it lets you prioritize the connection link so it can try the WiFi links first (free). It feels great to have the address book backed up!
Then I tried the Y! dowload for my E61 - and same problem it asks me for the firmware upgrade so I came to this site to read the issues. I think Y! screwed up by making the app heavyweight. That is really stupid. Even my Y!Mail beta is I think far too heavyweight an app trying to look like Outlook. Looks great though - no doubt about that. But for Web access??
I think I will stick to Shozu for now - it’s clean lightweight and works like a charm.

Strangely worked first time via Wifi but never again.
Even using G3 network in Singapore, connection via phone link rather slow.

When i downloaded yahoo go 3.0 on my E61i it gives certificate error.plz send me the solution to this problem
March 31st, 2008 at 9:52 pm
I have used Yahoo Go 2.0 and Yahoo Go 3.0 in several devices, including a dozen Nokia phones, up to the latest S60 3rd FP1 models.
I am a computer programmer so I have an above average knowledge about programming.
Having said that, I found both Yahoo Go v2.0 and v3.0 horrible. Both crashed often and are too darn slow to the point of desuetude! Utterly useless piece of programming!
Is Yahoo shoving thier crappy software into our throats and a_ _?
