White Nokia E65
Two months ago I wrote about my feeble attempt to replace the housing of my Nokia E65. My goal was to transform my Mocca Nokia E65 to a Red Nokia E65 using an original red Nokia E65 housing.

The end result wasn't what I had expected but still not too bad. Because of the complexity involved in changing the housing of the Nokia E65 I had to give up midway and ended up with a one of a kind Red AND Mocca Nokia E65.
However, there are those out there who managed to completely change the housing of the Nokia E65.
Dimi, in Australia, sent me photos of her transformed Nokia E65. It started out as a Red Nokia E65 and through some modding turned out to the below White Nokia E65 - a real beauty in my eyes.
There are several companies selling original Nokia E65 housing in various colours on eBay.
Two sellers that frequently list Nokia E65 housing are:

A big thank you to Dimi for sharing the photos of her beautiful White Nokia E65!

Anyone noticed the rubber like coating on their E65 is wearing off? After only a few months of careful use all the mocca around my pop port and the top edge of the phone has pealed off!

And yes FAiL. The E65 rocks. It’s fast and cool with a battery that just won’t quit!

actually, that’s funny you say that cyberdog, ’cause as much as i want to love my e65 the speed and the battery are really the only things holding me back from saying i love it.
it seems to take a while before sometimes while switching between apps - going to my SMSs or starting opera, for example.
is there a firmware update or something?
and i’ve also noticed peeling around my charger port.

Bob and Stu: My Mocca E65 is loosing it’s skin from corners, but Nokia Service Point promised to change covers without charge (on next week when they have spare parts). Unfortunatelly they don’t prmised to change colour without extra charge :-).

ugh! the white looks awful Dimi sorry, prefer my red&black one. The White looks like a cheap housing you’d pick up at the market for 5 bucks. Theres also a deep blue cover out for the E65 now!

@bob, Mina & Stu : my E65 is peeling off too.
At first, it seemed to me that Nokia wanted to ignore the issue (http://www.casualtek.com/2007/08/22/peeling-phones-nokia-tries-to-ignore-the-issue/). After a second call, they seem to have decided to treat the issue the way it has be : under warranty.

Can anyone send me details of how to change the housing?

I love my E65 as well, but my problem is that a lot of dust has gone behind the screen between the soft keys labels.
I don’t have any problems with the peeling rubber since I use a vertical pouch to hold the phone.

I was using N80ie before and now using E65. Beautiful nice business phone however, the camara lens is sooo miserable. I think it can be better with 3 or 3.2 MP with flash and mirror. I use alot of the camera & video features for project survey and presentations with N80 and its very clear but not with E65. And the other sad feature is the font size… ummm not very good for business. well… till Nokia comes up with E65i or E66 improved version. CHEERS!!!

I bought a E65 white cover and managed to install it into my E65. I was dissapointed by the quality of the housing which was no way better than the original Nokia housing. Although i know its third party stuff, but the metal parts looks cheap and the plastic quality is not as good as the original nokia housing.
If nokia made an original white housing for the E65, i would definately buy it.

I´ve had my E65 almost 3 months. Wi-Fi on the first one went on and off and the store changed it. The one I have right now has almost 1 month of use… the mocca color is flaking off. And I use a leather pouch to hold the phone and haven´t dropped it, etc. I recently updated my firmware to version 2.0633.65.01 . I think it´s slower now to tell you the truth. I´m really not happy with my phone. After having used Sony Ericsson for the past 5 years, switching back to a Nokia hasn´t been that fun… Is Nokia even trying to make nice phones? Have you seen the new Sony Ericsson? I wanted Wi-Fi, and with all the reviews, went with the E65 since I found the N95 was too expensive and had come out such a long time ago… Oh well….
Does your phone freeze for a second or two and show white squares? HOPEFULLY THIS GLITCH WILL BE FIXED WITH THE NEXT FIRMWARE UPDATE. I´M NOT HAPPY…

i got my red cover for e65 today. and i completed changing the cover.
My phone is now red..look a bit better than the orginal color which is black mocha ..It wasn’t that hard but i don’t recomand unless your phone is peeling off or don’t look as good…
