(Please) Remind Me
Sometimes you can be missing something without even knowing it.
Something simple that you perhaps didn't even think of but when you find it you wonder how you ever could get along without it.
Such is the case for me and the amazing little application called Remind Me.
The application was created by the developer, MobiFun Software, as a direct result of a suggestion from an end user - the way it should work when you are a small, nimble and talented software developer.
The application let's you set up a number of different reminders for events such as received voice mail, missed calls, received SMS/MMS and of course email.
The strength of the application lies in the simplicity and the infinite number of ways you can tweak the settings to get the exact reminder for an example, missed call or received email.
I particularly like the fact that you can set up a number of "light alerts". You can have your display, keyboard, the light indicator or a combination of those flash when you have received a voice mail, missed a call, received email etc.
Another great feature is that the application supports Mail For Exchange email!
You can also set up a number of different tones and alarms and have them activated in certain profiles and also limit the use of Remind Me to certain hours of the day.
I am so very happy to have come across this great application! I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a more detailed way to fine tune various notifications and reminders.
The price for the full version is 10 Euros and there is a demo version available as well.

Noticed that “Keyboard only” light notification is not working on E60. Probably, E60’s hardware doesn’t allow switching on keyboard light without display light? Or is this firmware specific…

Great review.I have been using this app for several months now, and finnally, there is a crack for it. For ppl who do not have money for paying for a large number of apps, this is great. Also, when the trialperiod is over, simply uninstall it, reinstall, and voila, u have another 14 days of using it. The code that is universally acceptedis 26285.

Looks worth checking out.
Incidentally, Miodrage: a crack for €10 software? How cheap are you?

Which E-series phone is this for? The website mentions two types of downloads: 3rd edition and normal. For an E61, which is the appropriate version?
Thanks!

Graham: if ur average monthly income would be 300 Euros, how cheap would u be? I simply don’t have the money to spend on programs for mobile phones. I am simply counting on cracks for good pieces of software. And this is an excellent piece. Too bad I don’t have the money to pay for it, and help the developers, but with 300 Euros/month I have more important things to think. And I am from Serbia, if some1 wants to know.

Miodrage: What version are u using. P.S . I’m in the same boat as u…the code doesn’t work for the latest version.

E61 is 3rd edition nokia phone
August 15th, 2007 at 1:30 am
I’m using it on E90, works quiet okay! Also resizes okay for the inner ‘widescreen’
Can even select alerts for inner or outer screen, nice touch!
Do not use light alert for keyboard and display together, this lightshow spectacle will drain your juices quiet rapidly!

Maybe someone knows app that alows to set per contact melody for sms?
August 15th, 2007 at 9:32 am
Just tried installing on my e61 and get this error when trying to run:
Menu: Unable to execute file for security reasons!
August 15th, 2007 at 9:47 am
Ducky: I am using v3.20
Yeah, is there any program like SMSAlert (S60v2) that allows different ringtones for different SMS senders?
August 15th, 2007 at 4:48 pm
@Miodrage:
If you dont have the money for the program how did you get a symbian phone? Did you steal it?
If you cant afford a car you dont crack the window open and drive away with it!
Its not right and not having the money doesnt justify it. You are just a thief, a burglar, somebody who steals from others…
I dont believe it!!!

I don’t think one can have a soft enough corner for Serbians. I don’t think we can pontificate on these peoples, given what they have and what they are going through. Eventhough I am totally against stealing software or anything for that matter, my full sympathies with modirage and his fellow countrymen. I salute the spirit of the Serbians and condemn those who look down upon them. (BTW, I am *NOT* from Serbia or even from Europe or from the ‘civilised’ west either)

c’mon, everybody downloads one or two things from the web…
August 15th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
I got the app it doesn’t work well for e65
when no screensaver 2th set of keys flash ok howerver time interval set is ignorred
When screensaver is on the front keys don’t flash only backkeys flash
When screensaver is on back keys flash without stopping
when ‘display or display + keys is selected’ it flashes without stopping
August 16th, 2007 at 6:13 pm
It works fine on my E61 although I have not tried ‘display or display + keys’. Finally a software that takes advantage of the rather useless e-mail alert light. It’s great to have the phone vibrate and signal missed calls and unread sms instead of just new e-mails just like a Motorola Razr V3.

rowans,
dude, what are you talking about?
Why are you romanticising a software pirate?
And what has that got to do with his being serbian? Would it have been any better if he was (say) a british cracker.
Besides, most peoples go thru struggle and strife at some point in their history. That doesnt mean they like being patronized….i dont want to reveal where i am from, but my own country has gone through terrible times in the recent past, and is finding its feet only now. But i dont want your sympathy or anyone else’s. I would rather earn your respect. I would imagine the same applies to serbians too…..
August 20th, 2007 at 8:31 am
Yepp, thanks Rowans, but I am too proud to take any sympathies. And there r so many warez sites… Almost every software is cracked. And guess what, most of the downloaders come from the rich west.
Keith, I can afford this software, the trouble is my country is excluded from the international money transactions, so it is very tuff, and also, very expensive to do that. Imagine loosing another 10 Euros just for paying 10 Euros to get this piece of software. It is a lot easier to get it free.
So why should I differ? Every1 is downloading something from the warez sites, and as Jesus said, the first of u who is without a sin, throw a rock at me!
August 24th, 2007 at 12:34 am
> ‘everyone is downloading something from the warez sites’.
- Please don’t make assumptions about ‘everyone’ based on your own behaviour.
> ‘most of the downloaders come from the rich west’.
- Perhaps you would like to reference some sort of respected statistical data before making these statements like this.

Miodrage : just love your excuses - so if someone breaks into your house… if he is poor.. that is ok?
We are not talking food here, if you are stealing you are a thief apparently you are proud to be one - you even wanna defend stealing - great, hope you try one day that someone copy’s and steals your job, or takes your job away.
Many people steal software - but must do not try to claim they simply just haaave to steal. because (buhuu) they are poor. Serbia is not an underdeveloped country (they even have internet :-)) dont sell yourself short.

Do you know, how to postpone a reminder for task? Normally, you can only dismiss oraz ignore it. When you ignore, it’ll come back in a minute. But I’d like to have a possibility to postpone it for 15min, 1 hour, 1 day and so on. Exactly like in WinMobile.
The lack of thos little feature forced me to use PDA with phone with WinMobile, but I’d like to come back to my Nokia e61.
Do you know, how to fix this?
September 1st, 2007 at 2:53 pm
Miodrage
I dont advocate cracks warez etc. Its stealing - simple as.
You cant afford to pay for software but you can afford an expensive Symbian OS phone.
Pull the other one
September 10th, 2007 at 10:32 pm
Great piece of software! Reasonable price too. Somehow I’m unable to manage the phone with thia Remind Me app disabled or not installed. Very helpful app.

Wow, I’ve been looking for an app like this forever. The lighting is rather interesting (in that its pattern is to blink several times, not once every specified amount of time) but it works awesomely. I was never quite sure why Nokia put in the useless LED indicator since it only lights up for about 30 seconds after a new email is received…but now its all changed. I will happily pay for a program like this. Now, just include a status light, and we’re golden.

Hi Bram,
Di you read through all the blog posts on the topic of Mail For Exchange on this blog? That could be a good start.
Cheers
