Windows Live Messenger has quietly showed up in the Download Folder on Eseries devices in certain regions and with certain carriers.
The Windows Live Messenger client was initially released for a number of Nokia's NSeries devices. However, the client which supports Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Spaces and Live Search is now officially available for Eseries.
However, once again, it should be noted that distribution seemed to be tied to certain carriers (read SIM) and certain regions.
I have received reports that it is the SIM that decides whether Windows Live Messenger shows up as a download or not. Here are the step by step download screen shots for regions where the application is available.
It should be noted that there is a cracked version of the software floating around in Cyberspace…
I don’t have ‘Download’ application on my E61. However, i have Windows Live Messenger installed from SymbianWorld. It shows 1.0.6141 version.
What version number has Messenger that can be grabbed from ‘Download’ application?

Someone posted install files in the previous msn thread, it works like a charm!
I have tried the one floating on the net on my E61i on my 3 UK Contract (phone is an offline phone though) and it installs fine but some contacts do not load into the IM client.
It does not show up in my Download! app, so possibly UK is still a no go.

I have an E65 from 3 in the UK. I don’t seem to have a Download Folder, am I just being a bit daft? The phone came with a rubbish version of MSN Messenger that just refuses to stay logged in or recieve/deliver messages properly. Does anyone know if the Live! version has similar problems?

I am using the Windows Live Messenger offered by the local carrier for awhile, it is for IM only and cannot access hotmail. Is this application able to access mail?

It worked great with my e61.
The E61 got a raw deal… It appears the Download! application is on the E61i (and other E/Nseries devices that are not E61s). I can only wonder why Nokia doesn’t provide Download! (and text to speech) for the E61 but it’s certainly in line with their “all devices left behind” strategy of orphaning their products.

It appears as stated in the Download Folder on T-mobile UK. Also, a new app, from the E90 is there, Active Notes, a pimped up version of the Notes app.

I downloaded and installed the cracked version of Messenger on my E51 and it works beautifully.
During installation it re-installs the Nokia Contacts Services Package.
How do I restore the Original Nokia contacts services package? Where can I download this software from? And what does it do?

I have a msn.com e-mail address and have been upgraded to windows live. I can’t login to get my messages. I wonder if only hotmail.com and live.com addresses can use this software. Anyone have this same problem? Thanks.
i have the windows live messenger 6141 on my cellphone e61i it works absolutely great but the only problem is, after installing and set windows as default, it comes out ( unable to create message. Message setting must first be defined in messaging. ) this phrases coming out when i hold on the email key, does anyone occured this problem before??? any clue??? pls help!! tq

hi.windows live messenger does not work on my nokia e51.i’ve tried 1006141 version (service temporary unavailable).Also 1008161 version (unable to connect,please check access point settings)and finally newest version 1019000 (unable to connect please check access point settings.).They only work via Wifi.Via my interet provider on my mobile they appear these messages.Does somebody has any clue?
