I just bought E61i and set up hotmail (you will need to subscribe Hotmail Plus, not MSN Premium) on it.
Incoming: pop3.live.com, SSL, port 995
Outgoing: smtp.live.com, SSL, port 25

Incoming mail works just fine. However, my sent mail has been queued in outbox for hours.

Any one has any suggestion?

I used the settings provided by all of the above. When I try to connect to GMail, it does NOT work. It just goes through the connect process, however, does not connect. I am using ATT (Cingular) in the US. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Gmail has finally added IMAP support, so now you can just check your inbox and leave the big pile of archive messages alone. Plus the communication is both ways so if you do something on the phone it reflects on gmail and vice versa.

Now that is cool :)

I don't like using gmail from the web interface or from the gmail java client. I wanted to use POP/SMTP to get my gmail. Here is how I got POP3 gmail to work with the E61's Email Client.

1. Log into your gmail account and change your settings to allow POP3.
2. On your phone, set up a new email account as normal.
3. Set up the incoming/outgoing settings as follows:

Incomming:

User name: The email address you typicall use to log into gmail. I.E. "your username"@gmail.com
Password: The password you typically use to log into gmail
Incoming mail serv.: pop.gmail.com
Access point to use: Your choice
Mailbox name: Your choice, I choose "Gmail"
Mailbox Type: POP3
Security (ports): SSL/TLS
Port: User Defined / 995
APOP secure login: Off

Outgoing:
My email Address: Your gmail email address
Username: Your gmail email address you typically use to login
Password: Your gmail passwork you typicall use to login
Outgoing Mail serv: smtp.gmail.com
Access Point in use: Your choice
Security (ports): SSL/TLS
Port: User Defined / 465

That should get it going. You can customize how mail is stored on gmail from the gmail settings page. You can also set up auto retrieval from the settings on you phone. Just poke around the connection settings on your phone to see all the options. They are pretty self explainitory.
