Screenshot for Symbian OS

Many readers have asked me what application I use to take the screenshots of my Nokia E61. Since this tool - "Screenshot for Symbian OS" is such an *essential* part of E-Series I am embarrassed that I haven't written about it sooner.

Screenshot for Symbian OS was actually the first application I downloaded to my Nokia E61. It was one of the first applications available for S60 3rd edition and the very first I came across. The application is one of those very rare applications that manage to combine reliability, getting the job done with a clean and amazingly simple user interface. What is even more amazing is that it is free. The multitalented developer - Antony Pranata - is giving this application away.

Antony, my appreciation is much overdue. Thank you!

How do you go about taking a snapshot? I am not sure how to press ? Which key is that? Thanks.

  9. admin Says:

There are two settings. I set up mine to use the star key * sequence so this is how I press on the Nokia E61:

Blue Key with arrow (left corner) + Black Arrow Up Key (next to the blue arrow key) + * Key. Press all of them at once. It might take you one or two tries before you get the hang of it.

Then it is like cycling - comes naturally :-)

    Anthony,
My question was actually in regards to the “edit” key and how to go about pressing that since its not labeled so on the Nokia e61. I found out elsewhere that on the e61 the left shift key is the “edit” key. That solved I can no use this great app.

  11. Tu Says:

I tried pressing the blue key + the black up arrow and the * key at the same time, nothing happens.

  12. Sep Says:

Make sure its the left shift key and you don’t need to press the blue key.

Hi guys, the instruction guide for “Fun Games & Tools” stated on the first page that the applications in the Micro SD card automatically installs itself the first time we insert the memory card in the phone. however, my phone did not display any installation process at all. How do i try to reinstall the applications in the memory card?
