Windows Live Client: Now available in USA and 7 more countries
The Windows Live client for Nokia provides great access to Hotmail, MSN IM and Microsoft Windows Live Spaces. The client, which we previously covered in this blog post, is now available in 7 more countries: Hungary, Iceland, India, Israel, Poland, Romania and the USA.
The client is compatible with a number of Nokia devices including the following Eseries devices: Nokia E90, E65, E61i and E51.
So far I have the client has shown up in the downloads folder of my Nokia E51 but nothing yet in my Nokia E61i. I assume it takes some time before it shows up.
To download the application do the following:
Go to the "Download" folder
Go to the "Internet" folder.
Choose "Mail,IM"
More information about the client is also available at Nokia's Windows Live site.

Does it work in e62, too ?

If the application was available I think it would work. The issue is that the file is not available in the download folders for the E62/E61.

Aren’t you charged for usage though?

Hi Darren,
When you install the client a message pops up saying that at some point it will cost money to use the MSN IM portion. However, before the subscription is enforced you still have an additional 30 days of free usage.
So for now, it is free.
One more thing, access to Hotmail is always free.

I’ve been using Hotmail Live on my e61i for about a year now and I really like it. The only thing I am missing is scheduled synchronization and html support.

Welcome back Ed,
finished with the house?
For E90 it came almost directly after release. It was always free to use, but since one week I also got the pop-up that my trial period was starting.
Although it’s very handy, it really depends what the costs will be, otherwise I’m switching to other good alternatives.

@ Faisal,
I guess the Nokia website was not in sync with the availability. It’s up to date now.
@eazye
Thanks. Owning a house is a MASSIVE undertaking (I’ve just found out). There is still so much to fix.. Depending on the region - I’ve heard that the client might always be free. I guess the subscription is enforced in certain countries.

Last year, Windows Live Mobile became available for Nokia users… but not for all regions. As of today, 7 new areas have been made available for many Nseries and Eseries devices. Hungary, Iceland, India, Israel, Poland, Romania and the USA….

Hi Michael,
In this post I go in to a bit more details regarding the installation process:

It would also help to know how far you can proceed in the installation process, what happens etc.
