Has anyone seen a calculator who knows mathematical rules like calculating ^ before x and / and before + and - without using (). Calcium doesnt support this (as many other calculators for the series).

Any suggestions ?

Wishes from austria

I submitted the earlier reply stating that I could not enter numbers into Calcuim. I later found the optimized version of Calcuim for the E61, installed it and all is great now. Tks

Funny thing with Calcuim. After I installed it on my E61 I tried it out. I can not seem to enter numbers. The joystick seems to function, but pressing the 0-9 keys on the keypad only results in a beep. Am I doing something really stupid?

Hi, I am the programmer of Calcium. I managed to get an E61 for testing and fixed the decimal point bug. I have also made a customised version for QVGA devices like the E61 so the operations dial doesn't look so ugly (due to resizing). The link is:

[...] I really like the phone and have been pleased with most aspects of it. Check out the most excellent blog on the Nokia E-Series devices. I just learned about Calcium - A Better Calculator for the Nokia E61 there (thank goodness - the built in one sucks) and this Automatic Key Lock Application. [...]

I agree Patrick, I had to read the manual to figure that one out - it wasn't logical to me to use the pound key for a decimal.

This is replacing the calculator on my phone. Though I must say that it is a bit out-of-the-norm to use the # for the decimal. I would readily press the fullstop.
