your joystick seem to have mechanical issue. This can be caused by dirt gone inside the casing at the back of stick. Try blowing air around the stick and see if it makes any diff he yes then you need to clean up after removing casing. E61 open up procedure is there on net. Peace

Hello folks,
Does anyone know how to solve a ‘crazy’ going joystick; it went crazy few days ago, can not navigate up/down or left; it scrolls only clockwise, by itself… has anyone had similar problem. Is it software or mechanical issue?

Can a E60 use a E61 joystick? Cos my E60's joystick is starting to wear out as it's rubber form. Anyone know where i can get a E61 joystick if it's possible to be used on a E60? Thanks.

My personal Tip for the E61 joystick:

Get yourself a bunch of those Thinkpad[tm] Trackpoint[tm] caps on eBay. The Dome shaped ones with the rough surface do fine. Often you can get them for about €1 / $1 a pop (buy more than one, they wear).

The shape of the hole inside the cap fits the E61 joystick almost perfectly. All you need to do is cut off the lower part as much as it hinders joystick movement. In my case a small wire cutter did fine for the task (the rubber is too elastic for precise cutting with a blade).

The result sticks nicely on top of the joystick and makes it extremely usable. Two problems remain:
1) if you dont glue it, it will come off in your pocket and get lost.
OTOH if you glue it you cant replace it (it wears out)
2) The joystick wil protrude slightly above all other buttons and the rough surface quickly starts picking up pocket fluff when stuffed in your pouch which takes considerable effort to be removed afterwards.

The Nokia OS is ten times better then any os out there, and this version 3 tops it off, even though it has a few bugs, alot faster smoother and reply time with it. I had the 9500 and im not sorry for getting the e61, small and lighter !
