Time for Themes
I recieved a few questions regarding what theme I used for the post about USB cradle for the Nokia E61. The theme is "Fire" and I have added it to the Nokia E61 theme page. I quite like it myself. It's very powerful and dramatic. For those of you who prefer a more clean, simple theme for your Nokia E61, I have also added a low-key, white theme from I.G.
Fire By ?

Thanks Iann and Nitin.

Hi, Thanks for the new themes!
I do have a problem that i just encountered with my E61. I’ve had the phone for about 3 months and just today when i try to open the web browser from the standby screen it says “Web: already in use”. i have restarted the phone and it still says the same error. Throughout my day i use all 3 browsers (nokia web, nokia service, and opera mini.) that i have and i have never had a problem. Please help with this problem. Up til now i have had no major problems with this cell. I cant even view my bookmarks for the web browser either. Please Help. Thanks!!

Hi Guys,
Glad you like them. My current fave is Fire - it is so unique with the red background.

Hi Mike,
Go to Connections>Conn.Mngr>Act. data conn. to see what (if any) connections you have open. It seems as if one application is still open (accessing the data network).

Thanks for the quick reply. I did try to see if a connection existed and there was none. I also held the red end call button to see if it would ask me if i wanted to end any internet connections. I did some researching on google and found that severl other e61 owners encountered the same problem; the not being able to open thier web browser with a “web already in use” error message. The only current solution was to restart the phone while holding the call button, 3, and * buttons and poweirng the phone on and this formated the cell. Before I did this i backed up the phone though. My web does now work now, but i hope this doesnt happen very often. I’m not sure what triggered this. Thanks again!!!

Hi Mike,
Thank you for sharing this with the rest of us so that we know what to do in case it happens.

This question pertains to voice tags. What is the procedure to record my own voicde and associate it to a contact? Are we allowed only one voice tag per contact or can we tag two numbers for a contact, say home and mobile? I’ve looked everywhere for an answer and the manual gives very little guidance. Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Ed
Some nice additions there. Using FIRE myself now and quite like it. Just one thing I found, a small bug I suppose….. when you are on a browser page and you select go to address and type it in, it is a white background with white text so you cannot see the address you are typing.
By the way, thanks for the mention of the blog and also, good news!!! The new E61 firmware upgrade is finally available!!

This guy is great. He is a great friend of mine based in the US, but runs a super business, both flashing and unlocking phones and he is generally very quick to get all the latest firmwares etc.

I will never pay $$$ to get the new firmware for my phone if I can wait and get it at the nokia site. so if you guys are crazy to do so good luck, I am waiting.

yes, i agree with Oz, it should be freely available on the nokia updater site.
September 6th, 2006 at 4:47 pm
Sorry! I was just offering it as a solution to people who do not have access to a nokia service centre and also as the updater has not got the e61 added yet.

Hi:
I just got my E61 today, thx for all the great info it has helped me a lot in setting up.
I do have a question about the themes. when I click on the link and get a bunch of text as an SIS, how does this convert into a theme on the phone?
where do I put it?
I know I am missing an obvious step here, but cannot figure it out.
thanks

Hi PK,
you need to save it as a file, depending on browser and OS try left or right clicking and then choose save file as, or download and save. When you have the sis file you can bluetooth it, PC suite sync it over to your device.
Cheers
