Nokia E70

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

One of the most under appreciated Eseries devices in my opinion is the Nokia E70. The device has all the required features; camera, WiFi, expandable memory, 3G etc. The Nokia E70 also run the most important software including corporate email applications such as Mail For Exchange, BlackBerry Connect etc. All in all it is a very capable device.

But my favorite feature is the fold-out, full QWERTY keyboard.

Nokia Media Transfer Supports Nokia E70

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

Nokia Media Transfer now works with Nokia E70 without any hacks!

Nokia Media Transfer, which enables you to transfer pictures, videos, podcasts, music, and files between your Nokia mobile device and your Mac, was released two weeks ago but it only supported Nseries devices.

However, Nokia has quietly introduced support for Nokia E70. (Thank you Nokia!) The device is not yet listed as one of the supported devices but there is a profile available for the Nokia E70.

Nokia E70 - New Firmware Available

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

There is a new firmware available for Nokia E70.

The new firmware version is 3.0633.09.04. It installed beautifully on my Nokia E70.

Still not sure where the improvements are but I expect it's a bunch of bug fixes and possibly some VoIP and other enhancements.

Fire up Nokia Phone Software Updater and go and get it.

Thank you to everyone who wrote to tell me about this!!!

UPDATE: If you use BlackBerry Connect you might not want to upgrade yet as there is no compatible BBC client for the new firmware version. See more information in the comment section.

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

The December holidays are about family and getting together. Thanks to a friend of mine I managed to briefly collect all Eseries devices for a gratuitous photo shoot. Here they all are - Nokia E50, E60, E61, E62 and the E70.

Spreading the Love

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

I created this blog with the goal of writing about all E-Series devices. However, the lion's share of my posts are about the Nokia E61. Luckily, since the E-Series devices all run Symbian S60 3rd edition most of my posts are applicable to all the E-Series devices. However, I can't help but feel that I am not spreading the love among the other E-Series devices. Let me do something about that:

Steve "All-About-Symbian" Litchfield posted an excellent, updated review of the Nokia E70 - well worth reading!

Daniel of e60blog is providing great coverage from a mainly Nokia E60 standpoint.

If you speak Italian, or don't mind guessing the content based on nice pictures, I can recommend a dose of E70 World for a focus on the Nokia E70.

Rene runs a great German blog dedicated to the Nokia E61 - E61 Addicted.

Nokia E70 - Black or Silver

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

I have written about the black Nokia E70 before. A few days ago my friend showed me his Silver Nokia E70 so I took some comparison shots of the Black and Silver Nokia E70. I don't know which I like the most - Black or Silver? Perhaps I should get both ;-)

Welcome to the family - Black Nokia E70

Saturday, June 17th, 2006

I recently got my hands on a black Nokia E70. It's still way to early to give an in depth review of it but I've been wanting to get one since it was announced with the other E-series devices. (The Nokia E61, E60 and the E70). I plan to use the Nokia E61 as my primary device Monday - Friday, when the larger keyboard will come in handy and then Nokia E70 as my weekend device. Since I can get my corporate email on both of them I should be covered in case I need to check my email over the weekends. The smaller form factor of the Nokia 70 makes it a perfect weekend device. It's also got a camera - another "weekend" feature. Expect more posts about this device as I set it up and try it out.
