On The Radio
Wednesday, May 16th, 2007
I found a new favourite radio station for my Nokia E61i.
If you haven't tried using your Eseries device to listen to the radio I recommend some older post where the topic is discussed in detail. Such as this post and this post and this one (Don't forget to read the comments as well, that's where you will find a lot of good information).
Anyway, Ion sent me a Shoutcast playlist which I used with Nokia's Internet Radio Client. One of the included stations was 1.FM - The Chillout Lounge, which I have been streaming most of the day.
Thanks for the shoutcast file Ion!
The file is available for download here.
(Don't forget to put the file in the Shoutcast folder on your device. For more information see the above links to previous posts about radio on the Nokia E61).

Improving Video Quality On Nokia E61
Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007Thinking about starting to watch videos on the Nokia E61 but don't much about the subject?
Do you already watch videos but are not satisfied with the quality?
I've got a great article on this topic to recommend.
The author tested specific parts of certain video clips that were prone to distortion, and graded each part on a scale from 1 to 10 for picture quality and smoothness of motion.
In all he tested well over 100 different optimization settings. Based on the result he created optimal SUPER settings available for download.
Read the article, I promise that you will learn a lot. Especially in regards to tweaking video quality.
Great article Nico~!
Nokia N800 Unboxing
Thursday, April 26th, 2007I normally try to keep the focus on this blog on strictly Eseries and related software and accessories.
But when someone is kind enough to offer me some nice Nokia N800 unboxing photos I just can't turn it down
New Version Of Gmail

Nokia E61 & Wireless Headphones
Tuesday, April 24th, 2007Since I use my Nokia E61 as my iPod Nano replacement I decided it was time to get some great headphones.
I really liked my previous set-up but I wanted to go wireless. Logitech's FreePulse Wireless headphones will set me free. No more cables for me
Boxwave Cases For Nokia E61 & Nokia E62
Sunday, April 22nd, 2007www.s60.com
Wednesday, April 11th, 2007High up my list of sites I visit on regular basis is s60.com. However, I always go directly to the blogs of S60 located at blogs.s60.com to read what interesting thoughts Tommi, Phil, Jouni and the rest of the crew might have.
I can't remember when I last visited the main landing page www.s60.com. It was probably months ago. So when I stopped by the other day I noticed that it had all been updated (as I said, probably months ago…)
I really liked the new layout of the site and the animations on the front page.
Threaded SMS For Nokia E61
Sunday, April 8th, 2007Sometimes, built-in applications leaves a bit to be desired… Luckily, there are plenty of talented, fast-moving, entrepreneurial developers who can identify the opportunity and create a solution to fill a void.
Case in point - the built in SMS application on Eseries devices and the newly released ThreadSMS.
ThreadSMS provides some missing and often requested features which should have been part of the built in SMS application.
The most obvious enhancement is the layout - a threaded IM-style overview of your SMS messages.
ThreadSMS supports a wide range of emoticons as well as all the "standard" SMS features such as "send, receive, reply, forward and callback"

How I Would Revamp The Phone Book Application
Tuesday, March 27th, 2007Tommi over at S60.com brought up an interesting topic - How Would You Revamp The Phonebook… Or Would You?
My answer is yes, without any doubt.
As much as I like the Nokia's Eseries devices, and I really do, there are changes I would like to see in future products. Per Tommi's post, let's focus on the phonebook and hope he can bring our suggestions to the right people within S60.
The main issue I have with the phonebook application on the Eseries devices is that it feels rather weak as the phone book of an Enterprise device.
As an Eseries user I expect the phonebook to be able to handle hundreds and even thousands of address entries.
It should also be able to display these entries and let me interact with the information in the address book in a really intuitive and simply brilliant way.
Here are a few changes I would like to see on the phonebook application of the Eseries.
Some of the best things in life are free - Nokia Sports Tracker application
Tuesday, March 13th, 2007Just as I was about to start summarizing my 30 day Nokia Wellness Diary (challenge) I came across an amazing application thanks to JKa - Nokia Sports Tracker.
This application has everything I wanted to see in the Wellness Diary - more focus on exercise tracking and support for GPS. This application is so very, very cool! Exactly what I have been looking for.
I don't know what excites me the most - how cool this application is or the fact that is available for free thanks to the amazing Nokia Research Center.
Nokia Sports Tracker is a GPS based exercise tracker which collects information such as speed, distance and time. The information is automatically stored to a training diary and can be displayed in a variety of ways.
Cha, Cha, Changes…
Thursday, March 8th, 2007After more than three hundred posts, seven thousand comments, nearly fifty thousand photos viewed on Flickr and well over a million of visits to this blog, it's time for me to slow down a bit.

I will not quit updating the blog but rather slow down and update it less frequently. Perhaps I will keep it to weekly updates. I need to rearrange my professional and personal priorities and it leaves me with less time for E-series.org.
In the meanwhile some of my favourite blogs and good friends keep on blogging:
Symbian Guru, See Into S60, Tommi's Application Blog, S60 Tips, Darla Mack, SymbianV3, All About Symbian, and RingNokia
Thank you everyone~!

Synchronize Mail For Exchange Email Using IP Passthrough
Thursday, February 8th, 2007A common question I am asked is whether it is possible to synchronize your email with your device. That is, not using OTA email push but rather using a cabled synchronization of email from your computer to your Nokia E61. I thought it was impossible and even answered that it couldn't be done. It turns out I was wrong (I apologize for misleading some of you).

You can cable sync your email from an Exchange Server using Mail For Exchange. It is a bit complicated but Sonny has created a great tutorial.
I've added two great new blogs to my list of daily reads. First up is a great looking blog with a focus on Eseries and Nseries called
