having had the e71 a few day, hooking it up to voip and exchange its as functional as my e61. However having problems with the gps - seems to only use network based gps? I use google maps. In noka map - no gps but when i see the positioning it has contact with 7 satelites!

Also, any tips on receiving my mailbox in standby mode? I only get new mails like i did on the e61. am i doing something wrong?

Else, love the phone! Sitting on the train now... Working great with turbo 3G in sweden. Played with the blackberry bold.... It was super clumsy.

E51-2 does not have the camera. As far as I can tell, the 1 vs 2 designation is not as it is with the E71. For that phone, the 1 version is the original, and the 2 version is the North American version which has better access capabilities to US hi speed networks.

does anyone else have major battery problems with their e51?

i use bluetooth to listen to music throuhg the music player application, and my battery just disappears. even when i'm not listening to music and have very few apps running, the battery life is terrible. if you have 3 10min conversations, it's almost gone.

i've even bought a spare battery which i carry around with me now, so i can replace th dead one.

does anyone else have the same issues?

thanks,

I'm running v1.78 on e61i. The application gps data (tracks, speed, position etc) freeze randomly a few seconds to minutes after it's started. Apparently it's a known problem:

I totally agree. The E71 is the phone I was waiting for. My E61 was just my practice phone...my training wheels phone.

It's really a brilliant device.

Weighing in. I'm a nokia fan. So much so I took my iphone 3g back and I love how rich the content and feel of the phone but it by no means is a better buy than my E71! I'm a power user, I need to blutooth with more than just a headset... I need to tether. I need video cameras installed. Audio recorders installed. I need accurate gps. I need multi email account retrieval and just a bunch of other stuff that the Mighty E 71 can do with out crashing. My iphone crashed every day. This one, maybe once every few days as it adjusts to all the apps I download and then remove if they aren't useful. It's just a matter of time when the iphone device takes over completely. Until then, I'm smokin all Iphones in my area... plus the form factor of the 71 is just PIMPISH!

E Seventy One IS the NOKIA Phone that I have been waiting for.

i am also having problems with yahoo mail on my E61. This is recent and has been going on for the past month or so. I am in the US and have AT&T as my carrier. Current settings are as follows:

Incoming:
pop.mail.yahoo.com
Access Point: Express/MediaNet - neither works at this point
security ports - off
port - default/110 both no longer work

Outgoing:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Access Point: Express/MediaNet - neither works at this point
security ports - off
port - default/25 both no longer work

I get asked for username and password and then i get a general error or timeout message
